Look Davey Havoc is a phenomenal artist don’t get me wrong. But AFI’s first couple of albums literally sounded like every other punk band at the time. If I didn’t know any better I would never be able to be able to pin what band this is based on the vocals. He didn’t get his uniqueness until Black Sails in the Sunset.

I don't know how I missed this video. I watched the two song combo you posted a couple of years back. Now, seeing the setlist in the end (would love to see the rest if the set!) and Dave's blonde hair, I would guess this was some time around April 1997. I have a show from April 1st 1997 with a blonde Davey, and a very similar (if not exact same) setlist. That show was in Buffalo, NY, which is near Chicago of course. So maybe it was a date before. Geoff's last show with AFI was April 7 1997. Thanks for the upload!

@@xrsidex I found a flyer from a show I was at in Aug. 1996 at the Fireside that lists The Rejects, Erector Set and The 4-Squares as opening bands for AFI. The footage from this show looks familiar, I even vaguely remember the patter about Frank Sinatra. But memory is a funny thing, I could be confabulating. Do you remember who the opening bands for this show were? Also puzzling is that the bass player says the new album comes out in June 1986, as if it hadn't come out yet, and then the crowd laughs implying that maybe it had. So I dunno. The footage is fantastic whether or not this is the show I was at, thanks so much for it. I'd long forgotten who had played at the show I'd seen at the Fireside and this footage led me to flyer that helped me remember.
