Perhaps because of the antiquity this song doesn't carry the humorous power that it did in the 60s and 70s. But I can tell you, Fay, that back then people rolled on the floor laughing over this. It's a great piece of humor and the outcome is so unlikely that when I look at the car that represented this, I just can't help but laugh, myself, even to this day. Great reaction as always! Thanks Russell for the feedback, i guess i missed on the humor because i didn't understand how much technological advancement had taken place back then so i assume back in the day the images of the car representation were the best of the best...lol

A great story song that Johnny did is Sunday Morning Coming Down. It was written by Kris Kristofferson, but even he admitted that Johnny made it his own. Also The Long Black Veil is a great song. It’s been done by a few people.

I figured right away it was Russell. 🙂 Another great request! As to if Johnny was a thief or not, I worked in a VERY well-known corporation's factory. And I can tell you there were plenty of small items that found their way out the door. Factory guys, they have a different way of thinking. ("Hey, these are better bolts than I can buy at a hardware store..." and out go a few bolts.) Not me, I didn't have a use for any of the stuff, never understood a thing, and frankly no one should EVER buy anything I had a hand in making.
