Marie P. She means like culturally African. African Americans, Afro Caribbean, and Afro Latino people are racially African yes but culturally they’re whatever country they’re from. It’s just the truth that a congélese person is growing up with a different culture than an Afro-Panamanian. Yes there are some aspects of African culture that were carried into diasporic culture but it’s still very different.

We need a show that talks about black Americans being made ashamed of being linked to African and fed impoverished, diseased and unsanitary depiction of Africans in the 80s and 90s. In Africa they were taught something similar about black Americans without knowing about Jim Crow, red lining, predator lending by banks, the drug war and how they targeted black Americans. Once we got older we found out the truth.
@joelux99035 жыл бұрын
You mean Nigerian? Africa is a continent, you shall know better and Nigeria is not the whole Africa. It is like saying Canadian represent the whole America. Btw, instead of teaching your children to mimicking the Nigerian accent, you can actually teach them to speak your parents’ native language. Anyway, my thought 💭
