Those people that are seen in a riot wearing blue shirts and holding blue flags are not Eritreans. They are people who came from Ethiopia mostly from the northern part of Ethiopia who changed their identity so that their asylum claims can be granted. There is a testimony of many of them justifying that on different platforms and media, proving that they are not Eritreans which is their words against themselves. But when looking at the sequential history of Eritrean Festivals, it has always been about culture, music and celebrations. It was established more than 5 decades ago and it has always been eventful like new year celebrations, independence day celebration, different religious event day celebrations, march 8 women's day celebrations, martyrs remembrance day , you name it.
