My favorite part about Yellow Loong is how he adapts to the different moves you do. I realized after a certain point in the fight that he was retaliating against the charged poke AND the smash attack variant combo. Such a dope-ass boss. Really made me lock my ass in to beat him.

@@Hagosha fr he does with that lightning teleportation move. But I can't lie I found something he wasn't adapting to 🤣🤣 I wrote it in this string of comments. But charging smash while running with spellbinder gets him everytime. Time it after his dash and you get him 95% of the time interrupting his combo even when he extends it late game. He didn't manage to pull his specail move on me. Because I kept my distance. I think close range fighting prompts him to do it.

@@estee9290you can also interrupt his giant aoe blast and jump in the air with the wind vessel which knockbacks or hitting him with a 3 or 4 focus swing doing it. Or other ways to knockdown like the baby head. During his combo strings you can also avoid his attacks mid combo using pillar stance

Some tips for fighting Yellow Loong. 1. You can use the bell vessel from chapter 2 to knock him out of the flying state when he changes phases, but you have to use it before he does the first flying attack. Same for heavy attacks with 3 or more focus, but it's unreliable. You can also use Azure Dust to tank the entire attack chain. 2. He has three movement patterns, one for each phase. They are just extensions of the combos from phase one. Don't rely on the same punish windows. He will give you plenty of time between combo patterns to recover, but it's also realistically the only time you can hit him. 3. The Stone Monkey spell is very useful, but he will try and command grab you after you parry him, so be careful. If you can dodge the grab, he has a large punish window.

Little tip: Misty step is op for the Yellow Loong. Just doge the first AOE then use misty step and the rest of the combo hits your dummy. meanwhile u can charge up your heavy too

Yellow loong has 3 move sets. The second one triggers after the flying lightning attack and the third one (where every combo is doubled), after his health is below half. On phase 3, he is invulnerable to thrust stance's charged attacks, but pillar stance's ones can get him anyway and sometimes stun him. Bit by bit, I recommend using pillar's stance once his health gets low (it took me 4 hours to understand this lmao).

Quick tip on beating yellow Long. Keep your distance and spam the heavy smash and when available use the freeze spell to deal damage in-between. Also had big bady equipped and used him when I could and got some good damage in. Going head on with him is madness, but also possible if you are a master at evading but with my technique he was kind of easy. Good Luck

Hey Afro respect your decision on using spell binder cause thats what i did to for more damage i would say the early phase is quite simple just dodge his combo which is usually 3 - 4 hits and hit a combo on him. 2 stack thrust can stagger him so thats useful. Once he charge his lighting and starts flying just dodge there will be openings at the end of the combo. The second phase attack are the same as the first one but much longer about 6 - 8 hits. ALL the best beating him sir

I don't have arachnaphobia but i do fear a certain bug that shows up in Hollow Knight. I have my fear under control for a certain amount of time (like a meter) due to not having someone help me in certain situations where those enemies popped up in other games. What i do if i encounter it in a videogame is: 1) Make the room brighter 2) Not have my feet touch the ground 3) Abrupt the immersion deliberately in some way (have one headphone out or play a random video while dealing with the situation) Outside of the videogame however, I stay away from it as much as possible. If it ends up getting close to me, i will k*ll it

Took me a solid day to finally beat yellow loong. What worked the best for me was the thrust stance and always using the tactical retreat move. When he starts to fly I used my cloud step and let me cook lol rinse and repeat. Also the weaver needle worked great with him too!

Afro use Ring of Fire maxed out and Thrust stance just the right side of the tree for thrust is all you need. His movements are based off your movements, the longer you thrust stance in ROF the slower he will move because he’s waiting for you to make the first move.

I feel ya Afro Every last mf during this chapter was annoying mainly bcz I just hate bugs in general but Yellow Loong raise my blood pressure on souls boss levels He really does g-check all your mannerisms you had up until this point. Personally I think using Spell Binder just makes the fight longer and harder for you, considering YL just has a fck ton of health and counters. That said you can always start off using ur skills to get off as much damage as possible or continuing to use thrust stance to fight at a distance while having rock solid equip to parry his attacks.

That Scream at the end. LLLLMMMAAAAAOOOO. Not trying to laugh at your pain but that scream was funny. When I beat him I had the blind fold (See No Evil) from the chapter with the blind monks . It makes perfect dodge much easier. Also you can equip the GaleGuard Armor which gives you alot of buffs when you perfect dodge like more focus points. Then all you have to do is keep dodging until you get 3 focus points and attack him to get the 4 and charge attack. It took me about 30 minutes to beat him with everything equipped.
