These podcasts are awesome for those of us who are trying to train physically AND mentally for a shot at the pipeline. Is there any way I can message y’all privately to ask questions about the new cross training process?

Can you guys do a video of the different schools CCT's have attended after AST outside of JTAC? Also how often do you guys augment with Seals overseas compared to an Oda team?

What would be the process for someone currently on active duty from another branch wanting to apply for specwar. Will a conditional release work or would they have to completely ETS ?
@mdgann62414 жыл бұрын
You can apply with an approved conditional release before your ETS. You will however apply by going through a AF Special Warfare recruiter. They will be able to provide you the additional items required to apply and set you up with a developer as well.

Was the EMT National Registry Certification a thing for any of you? Or is it brand new and if it is, if you guys know, why is it just now required
@jaio71904 жыл бұрын
It's required for PJ's , in the book Never Quit, the author goes over his ordeal on getting emt certified.

Can never seem to find the answer to what happens if you washout at any point. Do you change MOS? Are you autofilled air force needs job? Can you go SpecWar ever again?

The answer you should not seek
@saborthecrusader74324 жыл бұрын
When you wash out you typically get re classed into what ever the big Af needs from my understanding. I know a couple of Tacp wash outs who were devastated bc they didn’t get a second try. I’m assuming they messed up pretty bad. They were in the school house for almost a year in half. They washed out during block 3 or 2. it was during land navigation. Also they went through sw prep and tacp prep and waited for flights as well somewhere in the process

Also if you quit I don’t think you can ever come back & I think if they do allow you to come back they make it a lot harder for you
@jordanj.28864 жыл бұрын
John Henderson 100%. If you’re already thinking about “if you washout”, you’re already not there mentally. 🤷🏽♂️
@pathfinder90714 жыл бұрын
Jordan J. Not true, it’s important to make an informed decision and analyze your risk. USAF operators, when they were going through Indoc etc., were well aware of potentially getting re-classed into SecFo or whatever and doing their time in conventional USAF but that’s not what they came there to do. At different times in training, you have to fall back on different types of motivation (negative or positive) and get through it with the mental mechanisms and resources that you have. Positive motivation, for example, is thinking of types of missions you’ll go on, great experience you’ll get... As far as a negative motivator goes, knowing what happens when you walk out that door is important. It could very well be the only thing that stops you from giving up when it matters most.

What are the actual odds of someone in the reserves getting into specware? I see it’s an option but looking at offices training and the pipeline you’re basically full time busting out the trainings The only reason I ask because it would be cool to be home serving because the base across town has their own unit but if the pipeline is basically out of state the whole time I might as well just go active.
@OnesReady4 жыл бұрын
It is tough to go from off the street to a PJ reservist. They generally want you to have already been a PJ and then go reserves. You should speak to that unit that your'e interested in though because each unit is different.

Is the difference between tacp and cct the fact that one gets a beard when on deployment?
@christopherhazell4204 жыл бұрын
Yes, a different mission, one provides terminal guidance for conventional ground units, the other air traffic control in restricted environments. Akin to the U.S. Army Pathfinders.

how many years do you have to serve in ASFSPECWAR ?
@OnesReady4 жыл бұрын
Depends on what enlistment contract you sign up to. You can initially enlist for four years, but if you make it to a certain point in the pipeline they will ask that you go to six years so that you can be fully trained and deploy. After that, it's on you how long you want to stay in.
