You could lay the passenger sea back and put a small blow-up mattres on it you would fit that way. Just an idea

@ Yes, with a little creativity you can find ways to solve it... sort of. But it's not as optimal and comfortable as I would like. Apart from that, I love the car 🙂

Thanks a lot for taking your time to do this review, it’s been a great help and enjoyed it very much. Also an excellent point you have on the front passenger seat adjustment limitation - even if I am not planning sleeping in the car, it is something Toyota should consider improving.
@wilderwaysАй бұрын
Thanks for your comment, I'm glad you found my video useful. The seat issue is not addressed in the new 2025 model, and I've had a look at the Corolla Cross, and it's the same. So it's obviously a general Toyota issue.

Great personal review. Thank you. A week ago I ordered my Toyota Yaris Cross Exclusive, here in Portugal. I did a test drive and it is so easy and confortable to drive. I'll use it almost exclusively in the city and definitely not to sleep... so no cons for me! 😁And that florest is beautiful!

Regarding to the folding of the seats in de front: maybe there are some adjustments possible with the seat? You could reach out to a garage with that question maybe? 😊 Thanks for the review!
@wilderways9 күн бұрын
Yes, that was my first thought too, so I've tried every conceivable way to adjust it, but to no avail. And so I went back to the dealer and asked, and it turns out that that's just how it is on Toyota models. This also applies to, for example, the Corolla Cross (and probably more models).

Beautiful review thank you! I allow myself to answer to a few comments: About the boot cover, I think that it is just to hide the boot content, but they do not want us to put things in the cover because it is dangerous in case of frontal accident. The objects comes flying through the cabin and can case injury. About the lane assist, the facts that it restarts every time is a EU legal requirement … so it is unfortunately impossible to deactivate it forever. Soon it might not even be possible to deactivate it at all on new cars! Enjoy your wonderful Yaris Cross! Cheers

Great and realistic review. We have a Yaris Cross now in Spain for almost a year. We also as rock climbers would like to sleep in the car without having to put up a tent. I have not slept in it yet but plan to. My wife has no problem with the length but I may have being the same as your height. We put a box up on the roof for storage and I'm thinking if I pack the "crevasse" behind the passenger seat it might be possible to sleep slightly elevated. Because we now live and climb in Spain I might end up simply sleeping outside in a "bivi" bag. It is Spain so normally dry.
@wilderways27 күн бұрын
Thanks. I've tried a few different setups myself and have also managed to sleep in it, but it hasn't been comfortable as it was very cramped. I might consider the Corolla Cross instead next time. Spain is just wonderful, have a great time down there 🙂

Surely all you have to do is remove the headrest? Your front seats will then fold forwards in the usual manner. (There is one spring loaded catch on top of each seat where the headrest slides into the two holes on each seat. Slide the catch and pull out the headrest.)
@wilderways29 күн бұрын
Thanks for your comment, but I'm afraid that's unfortunately not correct. As you can see in the video, it has nothing to do with the headrest, it's the seat itself that can't be folded forward beyond vertical. I went down to the car dealer and asked, and he confirmed that this is just the case with these models (Corolla Cross too). At least for the models from 2023 onwards.

Really good review... I bought the little brother (without Cross) of the Yaris in 2021. Spending the night in the car would not be my thing, but I have exactly the same problem as you with transporting long wooden slats, pipes or similar. Otherwise, I drive the car in urban areas - with one liter of gasoline I get about 22 kilometers (3.6 liters per 100km), calculated over the last three years. Clearly, my Yaris hardly sees any forest paths - only asphalt. I couldn't deactivate the annoying beeping from the lane assist in this "version" either. But I could/was allowed to swap beeping for vibration of the steering wheel. I can live with that a little better. It may still be possible with your Yaris Cross (2023?) version... Because since 2024 an EU regulation requires this annoying signal to always be active, but it can be switched off manually - and this is again annoyingly. Otherwise, great video 👍- best wishes from Vienna/Austria!
@wilderwaysАй бұрын
Thank you very much, I'm glad you found it useful 🙂 In my Cross (2023) I can turn off lane assist completely manually. But someone else wrote to me that it probably won't be possible in the near future, because legislation will require it to be turned on mandatory. We'll see. Also best wishes to you here from Denmark 🙂

What about the Suspension ???
@wilderways25 күн бұрын
I'm not an expert in cars, just a regular user, so I'd rather not comment too much on the more technical details. And I don't have much to compare it to, since my previous car was a 12-year-old Peugeot 207. Anyway, my experience is that the suspension is medium, if you can put it that way. There are a lot of holes and bumps here in the forest where I live, and it handles them well. I haven't driven on actual rocky roads and the like with big challenges, but on fairly uneven roads here in the forest. I don't think the suspension is soft, since the holes in the road can be felt, but it's not completely hard either. That's why I call it medium. If it's a crucial issue for you, I would probably recommend you look for some driving tests where the car is pushed a little more to the extreme. Or of course find a dealer where you can test drive the car yourself 🙂

After much research I have just ordered a new Toyota Yaris Cross Excel. Although I am 183cm tall, I may have to sleep in the car when my wife discovers how much it cost 🤣She will like the fact that it virtually parks itself and has 360 degree sensors. I am used to the head up display on the windscreen as it is on my Mazda CX30 and I will miss it on my new Yaris. It is only on the Premiere in the UK and I didn't think the extra price was worth paying. Toyota gives a 10 year warranty in the UK provided you have the car serviced annually at a Toyota garage. Thanks for your video - it has reinforced my confidence in my latest purchase.

Hi. All in all, I'm actually really happy with the car. I myself have not experienced any inconvenience from noise in the cabin or from plastic parts. However, it must be said that my previous car was an old Peugeot 207 from 2012, so this is a big upgrade for me, and that's why I'm probably just excited. It is certainly good to see a lot of reviews on KZbin, but I think you should go down to a dealer and ask for a test drive in the car before you buy it. It is always best to experience it yourself 🙂

Hi I really like your video about me and my girlfriend next car. The lane assist is by EU law permitted to start up with the car so you have to turn it of every time, it give points to the score in the crashtest and give stars of safety. If I would sleep in the nature it will be in a tent or shelter and not in my car. 😁 So it's not my personal issue there.
@wilderwaysАй бұрын
Yes, that is correct about the lane assist, I have since found out. Someone actually wrote to me that in the future it will probably no longer be possible to switch it off, so that it will become mandatory. As for sleeping in the car, I know for sure that it is a very individual need that I have. I wish you and your girlfriend all the best with your new car 🙂

I have more negatives: 1. The price. The car is very small for the retailing price. You can find many other cars that are more spacious for less money; 2. Extremely small fuel tank. Even if consumption is low you are constantly visiting petrol stations. 3. Driving at high speed. Full hybrids are not so good at higher speed. Consumption and performance at 100-130 km/h (which is a normal commuting speed on motorways) is really bad. It's actually much worse than with normal turbo petrol. So if you have lots of motorway driving you better consider buying turbo petrol engine.
@wilderways13 күн бұрын
Yes, you're right. Now that I think about it, I also find that I visit the gas station quite often. The tank capacity is only 36L as far as I know. I don't know much about the price, since I leased mine and got a pretty good offer 🙂

I agree that there is a lot of plastic, but parts of the front panel are of a softer type and the same goes for the sides, so I don't think it can be compared to a Dacia. But as I mention in the video, I came from a Peugeot 207 from 2012, so I'm probably happier with the whole thing than if I came from a newer and more expensive car 😊
