I Love how Joy is so very vocal about her faith, and how she indicated becoming saved was her most important leap of faith, and Terrence was next. I also Love how she wanted the "one" for her to literally have the same Love for Christ that she has. It was beautiful how she explained that when she realized that Terrence had that same Love for the Lord, how she knew he would then have that same passion to Love her and want to take care of her, and how she could then follow him anywhere. Absolutely beautiful...I wished they were allowed to talk more about their courtship. When we do things according to the Lord's will, "It's Worth It, So Worth It."

@maryonngrace56044 жыл бұрын
Yeah. I think it's an American thing. I've lived in the States but I am French with African parents. This is a way African Americans are trying to "reverse" colorism but are simply perpetuating it unconsciously. It's true that as a dark-skinned black person, it's mostly harder. In an effort to valorize dark skin we shouldn't devaluate other shades (I'm saying this to myself). It's so easy to feel like other shades have it better so they don't need love, compliments or support. That's toxic.
@shiks8004 жыл бұрын
It’s an American thing. My first colorism experience was with a black guy from Louisiana! Never forget when he told us group of african girls that we are so dark skinned and that he was light skinned because his ancestors were not field slaves but house slaves😳😳I was like dang😳😳😳that’s a new level of colorism! when african American folks tell me “your skin is so beautiful “ I cringe cause I know it’s not genuine 🤢

18:24 What Im confused on is this: Melanie's father who partnered with and made children with a white woman (per Melanie's own account) then told his interracial daughter SHE needed a black man? (But HE didn't need a Black woman?) I'm confused. That felt more like Black men perpetuating the pressure for Black women to only partner with them, while Black men partner with (and make children with) whomever they please. That is a double standard if I ever did see one.

Reading in between the lines, it seems like Melaine's father eventually awaken to who he really was. Its beautiful that he had such a honest and spiritual relationship with his daughter to share a universal truth with her. People re-vibrate, grow, and change. I don't think you are meant to be single Jennifer. I think there's still more growing you have to do within. There's no time limit on finding love. Maybe your purpose is to find love within yourself. Not everyone believes in soul mates, so don't assume that. Some people believe in accepting responsibility and committing to it with all of their heart. I do believe that there are very limited amount of people you can connect with on a very deep level. Not all of them you marry, lol, some become friends.
