StarZoom You are missing the entire point. Black people need to see positive images of black couples because this country REFUSES to show it to imply that it does not exist. We see more interracial marriages in the media when they only account for 10% of all married couples for black people.

Once I got engaged, then pressure came for the actually date from his and my friends. It was another 3 years before we got married because of me. I had to do some work on myself before becoming a wife. I was not getting married for the sake of just being a Mrs. Its been 6 years and we're going strong.

I love when black men are intuned to their woman. When your man can see you had a rough day or hear something in your voice, and say you ok babe? And be there willing to listen means so much in a relationship. It helps you connect emotionally to one another in a caring way that says your partner values you. Good show.

The other couple BOTH agreeing not to shack up before marriage 💪👍✝️💜 and they are a breath of fresh air as well The couple that’s been together for 3 years are very SPIRITUALLY CONNECTED- ........ 💕🙏👌 Jemele’s natural personality NEEDED her husband’s personality to soften her and show her how to breathe.. let go.. trust and realize she no longer has to be so strong 💪..... Bravo to the brother who wrote poems to his woman as a teenager! A couple years ago, I taught a Sunday School class to a group of adults; and I was the youngest person in the room. I can't remember the subject matter, possibly Song of Solomon, but I asked the men in the class had they ever wrote poetry for a woman ever in their life. Not one man raised their hand.....I was blown away! Clearly it is not the only way to communicate substantively in a relationship, but I believe that the art of putting pen to paper to express one's feelings toward the other is becoming lost! Brothers, I don't know a woman who wouldn't appreciate it, and ladies if you want it, put it out there and do you to compel us. I would never get into a relationship with a woman who doesn't compel me to want to write to her about her, what she does to me, how she makes me feel etc....

Poetry is beautiful and it certainly has it's place in building a good relationship. But as the old cliche goes, action speaks louder than words. Not only WE should tell each other what's on our minds, but SHOW the love, appreciation, respect, trust, kindness etc...Be a hearer, a doer, and a teller of God's word.

@@reikomyles1495 saying something off the top of your head is telling....taking the time to craft a poem requires real effort and is unequivocally doing. @@charles6724 God has given you an artistic ability of poetry, that's beautiful. Poetry of love is like a song and the voice of the poet is the instrument. Yes, I agree with you, it takes time, effort to express, process your thoughts, create and make words that flow harmoniously and emotionally. I feel you. Like you mentioned, about the book of Song of Solomon, it is indeed one of the best love poetry ever composed. Yet, King Solomon was a married man of 700 wives and 300 concubines. When we know God commands that we should be married to ONE spouse. We also know, there are men and women in this world that can spew charming words of flattery, and play all kinds of games. However, they don't have a ounce of sincere Godly love in their hearts. That's what I trying to communicate. And if I came of as offensive, please accept my humble apologies. May God continue to bless you and yours.
@charles6724
@charles6724 3 жыл бұрын
@@reikomyles1495 No apology needed, I wasn't offended. Have you actually read Song of Solomon??? Much of it is written in the female voice, and I don't see how the part about how many wives he had is relevant. At the end of the day, you can sit here and say that men don't need to write words to express themselves because its better to do actions. Actually SHE determines what is best. I'm not a John Gray worshiper, but in his book Men are from Mars Women Are from Venus, the concept of love languages is real. For some women, words of affirmation is their love language and if you can express yourself and affirm her, you are not communicating properly that you love her. And even those for whom words of affirmation is not number one, most can appreciate a man who will express his love for her pen to paper. We live in a world where men are socialized not to be too vulnerable with expressing their feelings in this way, and its a shame. I would go out on a limb and say if men asked their woman would they appreciate it, an overwhelming majority would say yes regardless of (his artistic skill set) her love language and notwithstanding the need to meet her number one love language whatever it is. Brothers, give the lady what she wants....and ladies do what it do to compel him to put pen to paper. Blessings.

This is so good, open and honest! Those of us who are single and dating need to hear this more often. We need to see and hear both sides (men and women) & of course new in the marriage and some time into the marriage, as black people. Thank you all for doing this.

Nice! Really like this extension. I think this is the most I have heard convos on the show from the perspective of Black love versus Black ppl in love. It was refreshing to hear the discussion of the Black experience and how it impacts them as husband and wife.
