I like you Justin. I really do. But The Crown smokes Suffocation? What world do you live in? Suffocation might be the greatest metal band ever. I mean they brought so much to the table. Mike Smith invented like 5 different types of blast beats. They invented the slam riff. The suffo-waltz is a known 3/4 time that everyone copies in death metal. Frank Mullen might have the best lyrics in death metal. I say might because I do agree that Glen Benton has the most singable and memorable lyrics. But Frank has shit that opens your mind and makes you think about stuff you never even though possible before. He was definitely THE second best frontman, right behind Corpsegrinder. Anyone that saw Suffo in their prime knew how great he was. I saw them 20+ times over the years and all I can really remember from all the shows is wanting to go crazy in the pit. The Crown? Saw Gorguts in 2013/2014 with Carcass and Repulsion in SF I was bummed they didn't play anything off the 1st 2 albums. It was all colored sands songs and one song from obscura if I'm not mistaken (which was a total snoozer in my opinion). Luc Lemay was super cool when we met him after the set! I guess now there doing old songs so that's cool!

I like the Crown , but they definitely are pretty cartoonish. I also like INC , Dark Angel, Demolition Hammer, and Warbringer. I prefer Death Race King to later Suffocation, and everything after Erosion of Sanity by Gorguts, but you can't compare their styles. It's like saying Sodom blows away Hate Eternal, and Brodequin. It would be more accurate to claim that the Crown are better than Demolition Hammer, and Sepultura ( which they are not), but it makes more sense.
