In part 2 of this Adobe After Effects tutorial, we will look at how to add the 3D afterburner we built in Part 1 to an Element 3D Jet Strike scene.

IndependentVFX I know it might seem like something that is a no brainer, but could you make a tutorial on how to make all the correct light blink and stay where they are supposed to on the jets?? Still learning a lot about Ae and everything about it. Feel so lost a lot of the time lol.

Hi, thanks for the great tutorial! You could probably speed up your workflow by using an option to create a 3D null that's aligned to a 3D surface - it's accessible via Element3D effect properties :) Then just parent your afterburner control null to get it working in no time :)

Thank you for this amazing tutorial once again. This one can be followed easily. However, i don't understand how i can make a proper masking on the afterburner that is over the jet when i stick it to the rear engine. In your exemple (begining of the video) the source of the afterburner is shaped as the rear engine. Any tips to correct that? (Sorry for my bad english , i'm french)
@IndependentVFX10 жыл бұрын
Edouard Thomassin What you can try is make an extra circle or disc shaped solid layer, parent it to the group null and then move it into position at the opening of the thruster nozzle. I hope that makes sense?

Great tutorial! By the way, where can i find that sunset image?

knatter247 The image is a personal photo of mine. Im sure if you do a Google image search for sunset images you will find something similar.

awesome videos! do you know by any change how i can make the turbines of the c130 look like thet're spinning fast? when i try it looks fake. Thanks
@IndependentVFX9 жыл бұрын
Jonas De Roover You will have to really crank up the rotation and then enable motion blur - you might have to go into advanced comp settings and set your shutter angle to 180 degrees or even up to 360 and then you will need to up the samples per frame so the motion blur looks smooth and not stepped. Then play with the rotation value until you get the look you want. I would suggest doing all of this at half res or quarter res, oterwise it can take quite long to update

Do you think you can do a tutorial on ZOOM IN TO EYE, THEN ZOOM OUT with picture or video in eye?... There aren't any good tutorials about that.. Thank you. Hope to here from you soon..
@danyal9349 жыл бұрын
+QuantumStar47 I know mine look unrealistic too but also one thing i can say to help u is u once u zoom in and set the keyframes press U to show the keyframes and then select the 2 points of zoom in and out and press F9 to make the key frames smooth. also u can add alittle more camera shake when zoomed in and make the footage a little dark or animate optical flares.

when i change the camera from active camera to top or side the jet will not move only the after burner ? im so confused
@IndependentVFX9 жыл бұрын
StickAndCheese Yikes.... Im not too sure why that would be the case
@TinemOfficial9 жыл бұрын
+StickAndCheese A bit late with my reaction... but you can achieve this by checking the ''continuously rasterize'' box on your Element 3D layer which is located next to the transfer modes. :D
