Aftermarket TPMS for your Truck AND Trailer?

A review of an aftermarket truck (or SUV)/trailer tire pressure monitoring system (tpms) that's really quite good. I actually shot this video a little while ago, and have since driven my Expedition and trailer 1,700 miles to coastal Texas using this TPMS. It's solar powered, activates when it detects movement and has been flawless in use, though the setup takes a bit of patience. I can genuinely recommend this thing - I use it literally everytime I get in my Expedition - even when not towing the trailer. The temperature readings are a nice bonus too!

Desert Road mode is a second mode when you can program the tire pressure differently. The whole idea is that in an off-road setting you will use lower pressure is that are considered acceptable.

What happens when you pull away from the trailer? My problem is the batteries. How do you prevent them from corroding? I think I’d prefer the in-wheel sensors, personally

Nothing - just reports no tires there; you still see the truck's tire pressure. I've had these on for a few months now and everything's worked flawlessly. In-wheel sensors have their own problems - like for example, when you get a flat and put a spare on, with these you just transfer the sensor from the old tire to the new tire right there and then. Plus, if you pull several trailers or need to move the system from vehicle to vehicle, it's very easy. I just went through this with a full size spare for the Expedition I keep in the trailer. Though I had a FoMoCo tmps installed in the wheel, I can't really have it pre-programmed in advance.

So far I've logged over 2000 miles and 8 states with no issues. I'm a little more concerned about some idiot stealing the sensors, tbh. The rubber gaskets in the sensors keep them pretty snug on the stems.
