So alot of the Syfo Dyas lore is in Clone Wars Season 6, Tales of The Jedi, and the book, Dooku: Jedi Lost. Syfo Dyas, prior to the events of the Naboo Blockade in Phantom Menace, saw a vision of the rise of the Empire, and requested that the Jedi Council build an army for the Republic. They saw him as a warmonger and rejected his request. Then he went to Kamino and requested the creation of a Clone Army. He did request the Inhibitor Chips originally, but mainly to make sure they would execute any Rogue Jedi. Shortly after this Palpatine learned about his plans and told Dooku to take care of it. Dooku hired the Pyke Syndicate to assassinate him when Chancellor Vallorum sent Syfo Dyas on a mission on the moon of Obedia, they shot his ship down and sent his corpse to be cremated on Felucia. Then later Dooku found Jango Fett after testing him, to see if he's worthy of being the Clone Template, then Dooku, disguised as a Jedi went to Kamino and handed over the Inhibitor Chips with the Protocol 66 directive on them to the Kaminoans. And shortly after this he erased Kamino from the Jedi Archives, using Syfo Dyas's security clearance.

Grand Inquisitor: Tell me, jedi. What was her last word to you? Kanan: _Run._ It’s AZI! The droid that helped Fives when he found out about the control chips! I assume Rana was thinking of the Dark Trooper droids. The training droids do look like that because they’re early versions of the imperial ones shown in Rebels, whose appearance was inspired by the Dark Troopers from Legends. Although there’s been no direct connection between them established in canon. •Dark Troopers were brought into canon pretty early through a mobile game that’s been shut down for a while, but they didn’t appear in anything else until Mandalorian S2 Nala Se was on my shit list for her part in screwing over Fives. This is a decent start to redemption.

Not gonna lie. I was ready to hate Omega when I saw the commercials. I was like "Ok, here is the obligatory kid character who's going to need to be rescued all the time." But by the end of the first episode, she won me over and now I think she's one of the best kid characters in Star Wars. She's young and so she is vulnerable, but she isn't just an adult in a child's body as so many other kid characters are and she's not an annoying little twerp like all the others are. She's curious, she's naive, she needs help, she gets herself into trouble. But she doesn't complain, she takes things in stride, and when she does make a mistake she learns from it. It's a very realistic representation I also absolutely adore her interactions with the bad batch. Whoever animated them deserves a raise because I love watching their facial expressions. She's got this innocent neutral expression where you can tell that she's always observing and taking in everything in a "Cool! So that's how it works" kind of manner. And the Batch each interact with her in their own way. Hunter being the protective dad, Wrecker being like the fun uncle or older brother who is about as childish as she is, Tech talks to her like she is an equal and perfectly capable of understanding him, and Echo is quite stern with her, like he's the disciplinarian, but it's coming from a place of care. This is easily my favorite show that came out of the Disney era (last season of Clone Wars doesn't count)

Yeah she gets surprisingly (well maybe not all things considered) competant as the series goes on.

33:37 Hello! Random Star Wars fan here to answer your questions! Based on what you've seen so far, it's been revealed that Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas was plagued with visions of potential futures including one where the Jedi and the Republic were destroyed and replaced with a great evil. Desperate to prevent this, Sifo-Dyas attempted to pressure the Jedi Council and the Senate to build a new army for the Republic to defend themselves, but he was frequently dismissed and accused of war mongering, something his peers found especially disturbing as Sifo-Dyas was a member of the Jedi Council. Unable to convince anyone of his vision, Sifo-Dyas turned to his childhood friend Dooku, who at this point had left the Jedi Order due to the increasing corruption in the Republic he witnessed in Tales of the Jedi episodes 2 & 3. After leaving the Jedi, Dooku would become one of the richest individuals in the galaxy upon inheriting his birthright as the new Count of his homeworld Serenno, where he also inherited his family's vast fortunes. By this time, Dooku was also in league with the Sith already, being aware of Sidious and Maul as we see in Tales of the Jedi episode 4, and under the Sith's urging Dooku convinced Sifo-Dyas to commission a clone army for the Republic in secret, directing him to the isolated ocean world of Kamino and offering to help fund the clone army's creation with his newfound riches. Trusting his childhood friend, Sifo-Dyas did as Dooku requested, using his statis as a Master of the Jedi Council and Dooku's riches to place the initial order for the clone army sometime before The Phantom Menace. Then, sometime after placing that order, Dooku hired the Pykes to assassinate Sifo-Dyas, shooting down his personal shuttle while returning to Coruscant from a mission for Chancellor Valorum (the guy in charge before Palpatine). With Sifo-Dyas' death, Dooku returned to the Jedi Temple, something he was allowed to do as a former Jedi Master, and used Sifo-Dyas' clearance codes as a member of the Jedi Council to covertly erase all information surrounding Kamino from the Jedi Temple Archives, hiding the already isolated and little known planet from the Jedi until the time was right for the army to be revealed in Attack of the Clones. After that, Dooku fully fell to the Dark Side as seen in Tales of the Jedi episode 4, becoming Darth Tyrannus, and from that point on Tyrannus became the main point of contact for the clone army, being responsible for hiring Jango Fett to become the prime genetic template for the clones and ordering the Kaminoans to install inhibitor chips into the clones, claiming that Sifo-Dyas created them to prevent any rogue Jedi from betraying the Republic using the clones under their command, ensuing that in the event of encountering a rogue Jedi the clones would destroy them without hesitation, placing the protection of the Republic over their affiliation with the Jedi. This was, of course, a lie as Clone Protocol 66 and the inhibitor chips were only ever planned to be used to wipe out the Jedi Order in its entirety, something the Kaminoans were never fully aware of because Dooku and Sidious were the ones to program the inhibitor chips not the Kaminoans. Hope this helped!

Sifo-Dyas was a Jedi Master with a powerful gift of foresight. He had visions of the Clone Wars and started advocating for a Grand Army of the Republic to combat the imminent threat. He was booted from the Jedi Council for his trouble. He contacted the Kaminoans before Kamino was erased from the Jedi archives. He went to Lama Su to create the clone army and pretended that he was acting on behalf of the Senate. Palpatine and Dooku arranged for Dyas to be killed and erased Kamino from the archives, ensuring the clone army would remain a secret until the time was right.

0:57 Tbh, I would rather have a good adaption of the excellent Plagueis (including young Palpatine) novel. 2:26 Does he know that Mace Windu was her master? 5:01 It's interesting cause in Kanan's comic Order 66 (which came before this episode) the Bad Batch was nowhere to be found and everything transpired quite differently (it was night time and the 2 jedi where sitting at a campfire together and joking/laughing with their clones when the order was issued, for example). The clones for example had light red color designs on their armor instead of plain white and light green. In that comic we also see basically the full extent of Kanan's escape. 11:48 That's the same droid that helped Fives in the Clone Wars Order 66 arc.

Apparently Acolyte was actually the most expensive Star Wars show to make per episode. So it just wasn't worth the cost. Shows like Mandalorian and Andor are cheaper to make and bring in a wider audience.
@loreking48616 күн бұрын
It released that acolyte cost closer to $300 million compared to the original $220 million. Disney doesn't care about politics, only money. And if they lost hundreds of millions of dollars on 1 season, there's no way they're doing that again for a 2nd season.

5:38 Fun fact: Notice that Depa Billaba did not kill her clone commander. Commander Havoc would eventually go on to continue hunting Caleb. In the comics, he actually grows to realize that Order 66 was wrong. So he ends up sacrificing himself and blowing up the pursuit craft so that Caleb can escape after this. When the others questioned what he was doing, he simply replied, "Making things right."

The Comic is so much better than the opening of this episode. I know why they did this, but that is no excuse. Would it be so much better if it was a different planet, a different Jedi in a different Padawan? Think about it they can go hard core with it, the same whimsical opening, but it gets dark quickly when Crosshair guns down the kid. Then the rest of the show can happen as it’s done there’s no reason to have 99 be on Kaller.

I'm so excited to rewatch the series with you guys! I rewatched the Clone Wars Bad Batch episodes in preparation for this--both the original story reels and the final versions! I remember when the story reels first came out, all the way back in 2015, and rewatching them after having seen this series was very... interesting. The character designs changed a lot when the series got revived, and I've gotten so used to their look in this series that seeing their original designs again was kind of creepy (except for Crosshair, whose old look was EXTREMELY creepy!) Moving on to this premiere, I have a lot of thoughts! First of all, I remember how bittersweet it was hearing Tom Kane do the opening narration, since this episode came out after his stroke that forced him to retire from voice acting. Also, I was initially disappointed that this episode began by retconning the Kanan comic book series, although someone later pointed out to me that the events in the comic are Kanan's memories, which were likely distorted by the trauma and years of alcoholism, so I have accepted this one. I'd like to point out that Nala Se first appeared in the third episode of the Clone Wars, in which she was depicted as kind. Then she returned in Season 6, in which she was an antagonist. And now this series depicts her as kind again. Even though it improved my opinion of her, I will never forgive her for what she did to Fives! On that note, AZI-3 is the same droid who helped Fives learn about the inhibitor chips, so it's fitting that we see him again helping Echo. And, of course, OMEGA! Watching her introduction again after the series has ended was so nostalgic! I had forgotten how innocent she used to be, which makes her evolution over the course of the series kind of sad, actually. On a negative note, this season came out during a traumatic period in my life, and certain sights and sounds in this episode triggered some bad memory flashes, which did detract from my enjoyment of it somewhat. But I still really enjoyed rewatching this episode, and I look forward to the rest of the series!

Syfo’s name was used to create the clone army but it was done by Tyrannus/Dooku under Syfo’s name, Dooku was also responsible for removing Kamino from the Jedi archive as seen in tales of the Jedi. Everything Dooku did was at the request of Palpatine. Some of this gets covered in the clone wars arc (The biochip conspiracy) about Fives. The medical droid (AZI-3) from bad batch is also from that episode, remember when he teams up with Fives so they know what stage embryo the inhibitor chip was planted? This may be a little all over the place, but I hope it jogs your memory at the very least

#SundayRundown Sifo Dyas info The story hasn’t been fully fleshed out on screen, but a book or two have helped. A lot of this was explored in Clone Wars •Sifo was a real jedi. He was friends with Dooku. He occasionally experienced foreboding visions, including of a great conflict that would turn out to be the clone wars, and he realized the Republic would need an army. The jedi council thought he was being extreme and shut down the idea, so he decided to have the army made in secret. •He commissioned the kaminoans for the clones. We still don’t know exactly how, but the sith caught wind of this. Dooku in clone wars claims Sifo worked with him willingly. I’d say it’s obvious he never learned Dooku had become a sith. •Dooku orchestrates Sifo’s death while he’s on a mission so he and Sidious can take full control of the army project. Dooku uses his Darth title Tyranus as an alias when talking to the kaminoans and recruiting Jango as the template •The kaminoans weren’t aware Order 66 was for wiping out the jedi. They were told it was a safeguard against rogue jedi betrayal and that Sifo was aware of it. •It’s confirmed Tyranus provided the kaminoans with the chips (which are apparently common for any kind of clone), but Nala Se also says _Sifo_ instructed them to be implanted. So maybe the chips were something Dooku and Sifo worked on together, and order 66 may have been meant as a safeguard but got retooled into a genocide command by the sith once they got full control.
@thesharpercoder16 күн бұрын
Didn’t we get a glimpse of Sifo Dyas in “The Clone Wars”? I seem to recall Dooku viewing an image of him.
