Dude you saved me money! I was about to order a replacement for mg trekz air that had a rattle. So glad I came across a link to this video in one of them reddit threads. My trekz air is now fixed! Thank you so much for sharing!

Thank you for this. I just repaired and extended the useful life of my 3 year old, out of warranty Aeropex thanks to this video. Also that you for introducing Sugru to me, didn't know that product existed before this video.

Thank you so much for making this video. I have two pairs (helps drowned out tinnitus) now they are both rattling. I sent the first two in for warranty, and I'm happy to say they quickly replaced them, but now the new pair is doing it! You would think they would fix this in the manufacturing chain after so many people have had the same issue.

⚠ comment and warning. Perfect! I jus did it and the solution works! My warning -for others- is to test each time how much material introduce in the headphone, in order to not press to much the internal components because the volume could decrease. In my case, the volume is 60% less than before. But works!

Thanks for the great video! Very helpful! It does seem apparent based on the number of comments that this is a common issue with this product. What is more apparent is that Aeropex does not stand behind their overpriced, poorly-made/designed products.

When they were AfterShokz, they used to advertise a lifetime warranty. Why do you think they rebranded themselves and came out with a 2 year warranty?
@Chrzanior Жыл бұрын
I bought mine when they were still aftershokz. They didn't provide lifetime warranty, at least not in Europe
@briancharamuga29073 ай бұрын
It was two years when I bought it prior to the rebranding. They did honor the warranty when I developed this rattle after dropping the headset on the floor. It was just prior to the end of the warranty.
@BisectionalRunner2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for this video!!! I had e-mailed Aftershokz since my buzz and rattle happened 2 months outside of warranty, and they offered me 20% off a new set. I never had hear about surgu adhesive, but found a pack for $3 at Menards. About 15 minutes with 2 drill bits, and fixed!

I have those exact headphones and color. I bought red sugru and followed every step. Worked great. Ordered another pair but I was able to salvage my originals so now I have 2 pair. Truly Ty so much.

Thank you so much for sharing. Was so disappointed with my headset and that I had to repair them. Thanks so much for the helpful hack. Hopefully the company realizes their product is crap and fixes this!

This worked for me. I used a 2.5mm wood drill bit with my hand, it's easy to do. Countersink not really required. If doing the other side of the headphones, the hole has to be towards the bottom (my first one was too high up).

Cool, thanks for the tip about the other side.

I just did this now but now the sound quality is crap. Did I put too much sugru?
@brianstark93282 жыл бұрын
Same for me. I put in too much and now the sound is very muffled. Heed the warning - only use as much as you need to stop the rattle!
@faithkinneavy84363 жыл бұрын
Was 1 package of Sugru sufficient to stop the rattling Thank you!
@thomashardcastle18903 жыл бұрын
Yes, more than enough. Probably only about a pea sized piece of sugru went inside.

Luckily mine were only 22 months old when this happened so Aftershokz replaced them but I'm going to try this with my broken pair so I have a backup.
@cvdinter Жыл бұрын
Is it does effect any matter about sound qaulity?
@noreason212 жыл бұрын
Worked like a charm. Thanks so much. Maybe just put in the minimum suguru to avoid muffled sound. I just used a tiny bit….
@ulybagger2 жыл бұрын
How’s the sound after the repair? I fixed a pair with silicone and they sounded a little muffled
@thomashardcastle18902 жыл бұрын
The sound is perfect, like new. Maybe a bit of your silicon squished around to the front of the speaker and is interfering with the sound?
@dallas693 жыл бұрын
Why what breaks inside? If there is a plastic part that breaks do you have to remove the broken part from the speaker shell? Do the speakers that press on the inside of shell have to be aligned with a hole or location inside?
@thomashardcastle18902 жыл бұрын
no need to remove or align anything, just squeeze in as much sugru as possible
@rollerfred Жыл бұрын

The Bass on the left side of my Aeropex has stopped working. Can this fix my issue?
@thomashardcastle18908 ай бұрын
Maybe, give it a go and report back. Can’t make it any worse, right ?
@tatiwamoto67672 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video. I was able to resolve the rattling on mine. But is it only me that feels the sound has changed? It feels less acoustic and more like an old radio. I can still use it, but may be I need to buy a new one anyway.

And to think, I just sent mine back to the company and they just sent me a new pair.

Would you have a way to make aftershokz work again after it has gone lowbatt and did not charge again?
@thomashardcastle18902 жыл бұрын
Hi, only thing i can suggest is to make sure the contacts are clean on the headset, on the magnetic bit of the charge lead and on usb plug.
@forfinkly2 жыл бұрын
They are my favorite headset so far, hope they fix this with, they could just use an small piece of foam, or even better make a bigger speaker or battery. Thank you.

So happy to find this video. Would this repair work with Play-Doh?

I also found some HeyClay at home, like Sugru but it becomes hard once it sets. I would try using this but kind of afraid the hard material will dampen the driver's vibrations, unlike Sugru which seems to be rubbery once set.
@thomashardcastle18902 жыл бұрын
@@tehdumah as you say, its probably best with something that sets but remains flexible.

@@thomashardcastle1890 I wonder how hot glue would work. Seems like it would be easier to get in the hole.
