I have done mushrooms several times over the past 16 years. The most recent time was about 3.5 years ago. I asked the mushrooms to teach me and treated it as a medical intervention in myself. The mushrooms showed me ways i was hurting myself that night. I quit smoking within a week and haven't even thought about cigs for the past 3.5 years. It is actually remarkable how much they can change you in one 6 hour experience.

Same. I saw that I was in a behavioral / thought pattern / addictive loop. It was the stimulus for me to make permanent changes to my life. I got off all meds, antidepressants, anti anxiety, sleep, etc. and stopped drinking alcohol. I cleaned up my diet and got rid of any processed foods. My mind and my body got healthier. I made other changes to my business and eliminated or reduced exposure to people that bring drama and toxicity. I became much happier and reached levels of peace I had never experienced. It was comparable to 15 years of therapy in a handful of psilocybin sessions.

The awakening effect of psychedelics can also be experienced more gradually through surrendering to the present moment. I'm not against them at all, but it's also true that a person can become ungrounded from every day earthly life and not integrate the awakened insights into their daily life. You can become bias towards freedom without responsibility. They must be used with intention and the lessons must be integrated. If you treat them as an escape you will disempower yourself in practical earthly ways. The hippies went a bit too unhinged with them and that was a trigger for the powers at be to do something drastic. The powers at be felt what they valued was being threatened and that's worth understanding as well.

The reality is that not only are psychedelics not bad, as they are stigmatized to be, but they are actually 180 degrees opposite. They're not just neutral; they're amazing, and they are very important for the development of the human race. There's no distinction, really, between drugs and, for example, television, reading tabloid magazines, getting addicted to pornography, getting addicted to the internet, or getting addicted to greasy food. To me, all this stuff is just addiction, with different degrees of it. I'm very anti-drugs. Not only am I anti-heroin, cocaine, meth, and all this sort of stuff, but I'm even anti-alcohol, anti-smoking, anti-tobacco, anti-prescription drugs, and anti-eating sugar, drinking soda, and caffeine.

@@scallywag1716It nihj imossible to get addicted to psychedelics. The build up of tolerance is insane, to to point that makes me believe we co-evolved with them. You take a portion of shrooms, and the next day you need a double dose to even remotely experience the same effects, often more. After 4 days, almost nothing happens anymore no matter how much you take. I used to be an avid psychedelic raver, we tried this on many mutlti day festivals, by the end you need godlike doses to even feel a little bit. I've even smoked DMT daily for a month, even though after two weeks it barely did anything..took me a while to get rid of the tolerance... I kicked drinking after one use. I was a chronic abuser of alcohol and it was killing my liver. It changed my life to where I've been sober ever since and actually don't remember what it felt like to even drink. It erased that part of my life like it was never there. Now I eat healthy, I'm more aware of my actions, and have fixed all the personal relationships in my life. I feel like if everyone tried it, it would mean a population that would never want war and would be hyper aware of corruption. It raises awareness too much and in America it's clear the rampant corruption across many systems does want anything to help wake us up. Makes perfect sense why things like marijuana and psilocybin are illegal in a dishonest and plastic world inching towards war and chaos.

Scientific research on psychedelics was shut down, too. But it's resurfacing these days. Lots of promising results. There are definitely dangers with the use, it's wise to seek out experienced people who are grounded and safe. Set, setting and intention matters. The video also doesn't mention how psychedelics are used as medicine in ceremonies, and that level of respect is advicable (with the right facilitators) in my opinion bc I've seen lots of people doing psychedelics without learning anything, too. And misusing it. I think it needs to be used together with shadow integration, reflection and with respect. That's why we should educate about it, not judge or fear it. I know psychedelics have helped heal me, absolutely no doubt. It also helped me see through how sick our society is, yet, how it's also a very convincing illusion😊

The work that is done, (that is; mentally spiritually emotionally) is so “individual" a thing, but the final effect can be understood and acknowledged amongst the community of others who have taken a trip on LSD. I think that makes sense, I tried to say it in a way that others who haven't taken LSD may understand. I hope I was successful.

Came here to learn about psychedelics and instead just heard one-sided claims without much citation. My wife works in the hospital burn unit, and the amount of people lighting themselves on fire while on psychedelics was quite surprising. I'm not against their use, but this feels more like a sales pitch than something to promote healthy skepticism - something After Skool made an entire video about. Okay there's my counter rant to Joe's Epic Rant lol.

Everyone tried psychedelics knows for sure that it's not a drug, and it's not a kind of a toy or a game you play with anytime you want, it's a way, it's a way of discovering yourself and dive deep inside! It's not like drugs that makes you high!! Tripping is not a lovely sensation but it's mandatory, one time i literally ripped my soul to pieces and then got me back together, it was like i am born again. And the answers for all your problems is in you, don't look for the answers outside, just discover yourself more and mushrooms will guide you through this process
@dritzzdarkwood4727Ай бұрын
Yes, the process must be respected! due diligence must be observed. I never approach it as fun & games, especially since I commune with dead family members and see past lives.
@WarlordEnthusiastАй бұрын
Lol no. I've used dozens of psychedelics from class LSD-25, to stuff like NBOMe, 2C-E, 4-HO-MIPT and even that god awful DPT. I'll binge an entire season of a show on a couple tabs of acid because I enjoy the visuals, I don't need some magical enlightenment to enjoy a substance for what is is, fun. Psychedelics are drugs, they're chemicals that affect you psychologically and physically, they are by definition, drugs.
@dritzzdarkwood4727Ай бұрын
@@WarlordEnthusiast Actually, they're not. You cannot become physically addicted to ayahuasca nor mushrooms. Stop spewing things you either don't know about or wilfully lie about. Google "is ayahuasca addictive?" and get some result from universities and government health institutions around the world. Now, do the same with mushrooms and come back.

Well, there are places where psilocybe mushrooms is kinda legal. "Magic truffles" is legal in Netherlands but we don't see very powerful stream of innovations from there. So... I'm not against it, but I still think that it's more of recreational drug than a magic pill that can make you a superhuman.

Interesting topic and beautifully animated as usual. I think that the fact that internet culture is where the psychedelic renaissance is "happening" saddens me. It shows me that megalomaniac like Elon Musk rave about taking psychs. Webshops rave about microdosing. It's everywhere these days, it's on Netflix, it's on public TV, ... It's become another commodity. I mean, what's the point of taking "the medicine" if after awakening you just go back to being a consumer or the one producing more. I feel like there is a massive group of people who are self-aware and conscious enough to "see" the systemic problems, but are unable to do anything about it. I mean Steve Jobs raved about LSD and look how Apple turned out... Besides, a LOT of people I know who rave about psychedelics are incredibly narcissistic, anti-social and almost sociopathic. And finally, if you're gonna take it recreationally to go to psytrance party, then yes it's a drug. If you take it ceremonially, ideally with a sitter, it CAN be therapeutic medicine. Same goes for MDMA. So I dunno, personally I love it, but it's definitely not for everyone...

Agree. It means nothing to frauds like Rogan and his pay masters - they're the antithesis of what psychedelics offer. They're actors.

2:21 i bet the gland helps with reflection of senses and connecting them. Like how lsd smacks your senses around and opens them up to the patterns and stuff. The drugs or chemicals alter the ratios or the stability of the system but rattles it in a way that lets us see the farther limits than the normal day to day. What i mean is that the chemicals destabilize the system and so your eyes can see the expanded range or differences because the normal isn’t tying it down but the drugs wobble it to the relatives. Idk if you guys can understand that but i think the listening to the universe might be possible if we didn’t mess up one of our language regions. If you listen to the wind blow and understand it then you see the patterns and the reflections of the wind and can predict closer to its relatives. So seeing a deeper depth of color or a wider range could allow for greater communication or better listening, like how blue eyes have sensitivity to light or ranges and how females can see different shades because the experience of berries, makeup, and other stuff that has changed them over the generations. This ties to the soul, it doesn’t come from within, instead we find ourselves and become who we are. If we lie then the lie becomes part of us, if we are honest then the reflections and what things say can be easier to understand. Like the boy telling the story of the boat and god sending it 3 times but the guy drown because he didn’t know how to listen. What we share with becomes part of us, connected. Infinity is relative but unfounded, we are a bridge shared by the world, we emerged and connected and shared and expanded in relation. We deny because we misunderstand and box ourselves in. Think of why inventors break through in a dream, the dimensions shared freely because the focus wasn’t strict.

One time in college, I was watching "The Shining" with some friends. During the scene when Jack is backing Wendy up the stairs, I noted the intensity, the hyper-reality of the moment as displayed on screen, and was so impressed by the scene that I posited that Kubric must have been on drugs when making it. Some other student I didn't really know looked at me and calmly said "just because it's amazing to you, doesn't mean the person who made isn't a sober genius." That may or may not have been the case with Kubric, but I took his larger point to not assume. While I don't doubt that psychedelics played some role in human development as hypothesized here (and in other places), I feel we should be careful of overstating their necessity.
@adamwentworth12682 ай бұрын
My mom and I discussed years ago while looking at a particularly nice group of photos I took... how it seemed fairly easy to glimpse a little of the viewpoint of the photographer through the subject, the framing, the exposure, everything about the photo. I totally get what you're referring to with the Kubric scene!

A key issue is that it is unlikely that drug exposure influenced evolution. More possibly though it could very well have influenced culture.
