The TRN Conch comes with a modular cable, interchangeable nozzles for different sound signatures, a puck style carrying case and an all metal build. It can be purchased for around $30.00 dollars U.S. Furthermore, it sounds great! There is NO reason other companies can't do the same, especially when they are charging well over one hundred dollars.

I just stumbled on it recently. I couldn't believe it. Then, I saw the squig (red ring)...then I saw it next to the Timeless...🤯. Apparently it sounds really good to "old dudes", like me 😁, and reviewers TDM and Bangs. Perhaps it's the hearing loss...while younger reviewers, to a lesser extent - the word sibilance comes to mind of the reviews I've seen posted. I plan to acquire one soon. Also, Shortbus audio did a mod on it that completely turned it into a bass making machine that graphs really close to the Nightjar Acoustic Singularity, a $1,300 set. You can see both of them in HBB's squig database. The Conch has been renamed and can be found under Shortbus Audio.

Love this set to bits, but I also find the treble very fit and tip dependent! Tiprolling is very much recommended IMO. The stock tips are pretty underwhelming. Radius' Deepmount ZONE eartips (Japan exclusive, basically a Deepmount made from LSR) worked really well for me. Azla Sednaearfit Light/Light Short and Sony silicone eartips from a set of TWS also worked well.

Nice review! Smaller ears like mine are not a problem if you use Azla SednaEarfitLight eartips since the eartip bores extend backwards by about 1 mm behind the back of the eartip umbrellas. Hello, Audio Amigo! I just wanted to say that this is a very in-depth and well-done review of the Aful Performer 5+2. Your review has me seriously considering picking up a set! I do have a question, though. I’m also considering the Dunu DaVinci since it comes with better accessories and a more durable recessed 2-pin connection. My dilemma is that I haven’t had the chance to try either of these IEMs in person, making it difficult to decide between them. I’d love to hear your recommendation. I mostly listen to J-pop, Vocaloid, and indie/rap. If it helps, I really enjoy strong bass rumble and appreciate detailed, technical sound. Between the two, which one do you think would suit me better? Again, thank you so much!
@AudioAmigoReviews
@AudioAmigoReviews 3 күн бұрын
If you're into vocaloid and J-Pop, then in my opinion, you might want to look into the DaVinci over the Performer 7. It's got more energy in the treble that will help spotlight the vocals a bit more and give them more emphasis and shine. If you're worried about the extra cost on the DaVinci, maybe look into the Binary Chopin. Both the DaVinci and Chopin are tuned by Timmy from Gizaudio, and his library is full of Vocaloid, J-Pop and K-Pop, so he tuned them to his preferences. For J-Pop and Vocaloid, I actually kinda prefer the Chopin over the DaVinci. The DaVinci is warmer and has more body. The Chopin is a bit brighter.

@@danadirectmarketing It depends… it’s an upgrade. But the tuning is mostly the same, how much you notice the differences will depend on your library, and what you’re looking for in an upgrade. At $240… I’d say if you absolutely LOVE the tuning on the P5 and want a better version of it, it’s a hard sell, as the P5 is still very good. Maybe try and sell your P5 to subsidize the upgrade cost. Sorry for the wishy/washy answer… but it depends a lot on your financial situation and how much you love the P5s tuning. For most people I would say if you have the P5 just hold on to it. But if you adore the tuning… it might be worth it.

Trying to put aside my subjective bias and excitement over it, It's a spirited fun set that's genre flexible and can serve either as a stretched daily(massive respect) or a weekend toy depending on post-10K tolerance; it can either be airy magic or creeping siblance. 2.5-3K & 8K threads the fine line well between intended emphasis and deafening shout but post-10K is where it will make or break it for ppl. It pairs well and greatly complements a neutral-balanced relax set like in my case, a Kima 2, if not for that NASTY $360 price 🥶 Honestly, going beyond the 200 mark is already quite nasty unless it's special, absolutely pull-your-pants-down special, to justify obliterating this month's salary.

@@AudioAmigoReviews yea. Its kinda wierd with Explorer, cuz im using Dolby Access to EQ my IEMs, but it only has 10 band sliders so you cannot EQ exact range without affecting the rest of treble. Also if you EQ it with AutoEQ on Squig it simply wont give FR over 15 KHz, which is wierd but... Maybe with Peace it can be done but i kinda dont like it when i cannot see the FR (and peace is a bit advanced). I gave it +1db on 16 KHz in dolby and that's it for treblewise.
