Alireza's style of playing is the most exciting to watch. He doesn't start with the best moves sometime, but goes for creating complexity that most of the time pays off and sometime backfires. Love his games!

It's very interesting that for most of the middle game, Alireza was actually at a slight disadvantage, and Magnus came in the studio for an interview (his match vs Hikaru finished early) and said that he thought Alireza would be very happy with this kind of position where he's slightly worse than his opponent, because it will give him the space to use tactics to create chances for a win. And it was exactly how it turned out. That checkmate threat that led to the white queen's capture was just incredible.

Of course. It's the same reason why we watch human chess instead of computer chess. We watch superGM tournaments over IM, NM, FM or WIM tournaments not because superGMs are better but because they're better but still human. This is why superGMs are more popular than computers. Stockfish, Leela et al easily beat Wesley So & Magnus Carlsen. Yet we don't watch Stockfish, Leela, et al except the occasional game recommended like when Leela beat Stockfish in chess960. (Is Leela the Wesley So of computer chess?)

#suggestion Xue Haowen recently defeated Hans Niemann with the black pieces in a Sicilian. Hans Niemann engulfed the chess world last year with his win over Magnus and the scrutiny over his suspicious rating growth. @@pandoorloki1232 ok 12:19 then. I was thinking it is clear when the moment of Rg3. Obviously, I mean Rg3 after Black goes g4. The Black can't capture the knight since Rxf3 pining the Queen and Black wants to get out of the pin, the Black Queen can't check the White King anywhere Rg3 since all the d2 d4 h2 squares are protected. That was as far as I saw it when I made the post but there is Qf5 keeping the knight pinned and followed by a check later on at C2 or C5 regardless of White moving his King out of ping at Kg2 for example so that Black picks the Knight with the pawn on the later move. Anyway, usually Agamator says the 2-3 moves why someone can't do this or that because of this or that. Rg3 seemed like the most logical move to save the Knight so it felt weird when I saw at 12:19 that g4 wins the Knight. Without Qf5, Knight escapes. Was nothing silly about my post.
