Magnus is so good in these sort of endgames, he just understands them so deeply. The best hope for his rivals is to prepare well and go for dynamic complexity (like Nakamura did in last rapid tournament Lindores).

Carlsen uses the king for attack in the endgame more than anyone else. He knows the rule of square quite well and because of his photographic memory sometimes he doesn't have to literally calculate, he can recap just by looking at a position. This becomes particularly important in endgame when you are short of time
