It's because the more you go to the one extreme the more you loop back around into parody/offensive stereotype territory. Know the funniest thing? In the comics, Wiccan wasn't this overly effeminate gay (at least not at first), he was more focused on being a superhero and using his magic, his relationship came second. So what modern marvel have done is taken an original gay character who could have just been like any regular person, and purposely stereotyped him as being a loud, effeminate, testosterone lacking queer like something from a pantomime, the kind of stereotypes they made all gay men out to be some 40 years ago, as if he was purposely designed by 40+ wine mums who have NEVER MET A REGULAR GAY PERSON IN THEIR LIFE.

It's perfectly fine for a show to have a target audience, including making a show for women, or women with a particular interest. What is completely baffling is the idea of taking a massively profitable franchise with a predominantly male audience, and giving it hormone replacement therapy and surgery until it is a disfigured barely-recognizable mess that appeals to no one. When they keep doing it again and again though it starts to feel like a targeted attack on men in general, or nerds in particular. Because how could any sane people in jobs of any responsibility continue to throw billions of dollars away making products no one will buy, unless it's because they want to systematically destroy every fantasy and sci-fi franchise ever created out of spite

All this show has done I reaffirmed my belief that Hollywood no longer cares about talent or popularity to get ahead. Kathryn Hahn is and always will be a D-level actress who is only suited for side rolls, usually of the unfunny crazy friend. Never should be the lead.

The cast did a pretty swell job at this in his interviews too though. One of the old ladies admitted, she has absolutely no clue about Marvel, Comics etc. and even after filming the show etc. she still has no clue. She read nothing, she watched nothing of the MCU, and when this interviewer asked her, which hero she wanted to fight, you can see her looking past the camera like someone holding up a sign for her to say "Deadpool", and then she says "Deadpool, but i have no idea what that is.". These people are there to collect a "muh feminism" paycheck. They can't even be bothered to read up on their roles/characters/stories
