What he's saying about listening to your body and going lighter is real AF. I was 30 and didn't listen to my body because i was a slave to the training journal. I did X amount of weight last time for Y number of reps, so i HAVE to do X+1 or Y+1 this time! A recovery or deload week would have been the best thing for me, but because I was too damn stubborn, I tore my peck off the tendon and my heavy pressing days were over. This was 19 years ago and i still kick myself for my stupidity.

The danger of a loaded legpress and knowing if your ham gives now, or your knee just gives out and makes it way to the sight. Never forget the first "heavy", or just dangerously uncoordinated thing you do in the gym. It envokes a "fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck" (for me personally to the tune of in the hall of the mountain king), and you just take a seat for a minute, then you're good, and at somepoint you train with the weights that almsot really hurt you, and they're kinda easy, so the push pull of wanting more, risking more , but also dedicating more time to academic inquires

But if you squat seven plates you'd have 3 on one side and 4 on the other. Seems hard.
@jessebrown14006 ай бұрын
To grow arms you do need to push heavier weight pyramiding up with reps in reserve. Then do a pump on final set where you come down to a weight you can get 12-20 reps or something like that. Then you check all boxes. Just doing pump sets on arms will never get a newbie to grow their arms, you need to push weight to push the measuring tape. Now for maintenance you can probably get away with more pump days and less weight days. It's all about adding the mass when your young and supple and do more volume and pump when your older and just maintaining.
@Dad-Gad6 ай бұрын
Thanks Arnold 👍
@benoneill55506 ай бұрын
You can do “heavy” weight with strict form. Not everything strict has to be pump sets. The key for everyone is always going to be training to failure in the 8-12 rep range and increasing/decreasing accordingly providing the form is on point.
