You’re doing great, Magic! Don’t forget you don’t have to do everything yourself - there are plenty of people who might want to support you in video creation, website management etc. - try calling out to your fanbase to fulfill your vision of your channel. That might free you up to focus on your expertise and presenting it to us. It’s what you do best and why we watch!

So many things in this tournament were so scuffed. I don’t know if you were a player that had access to the 6+ months of testing but it’s insane any of those players were allowed to participate. Under normal rules players with that sort of access wouldn’t be allowed to participate in tournaments. But the most scuffed thing imo is the patches days and hours before the tournament even began. Thanks for coming to my TED talk. Best of luck in the next tournaments!

Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. But you learn the most from your losses. This is very important to understand in every area of life and especially in the business world. Your employees become solid and confident when you allow them to make mistakes and then to let them learn from it. And then let them also learn from mistakes of other employees without blaming and shaming anyone. Great video and well played nonetheless! Not every day can be the best day from a personal view.

It was really interesting watching this from both sides; your game knowledge of AoM was really impressive to watch with god power timings and god matchups, while Vortix just focused on his fundamentals and played the game more like other Age games in the sense that his unit production was consistent and constantly being expanded. To be completely honest, I believe you are an absolutely great player. Insane actually. I wish you all the best, I love your videos and I love that after your games you made this kind of a video. I just want to tell you that now, I believe you can do what you are trying. Staying on top while having a full time job (on top meaning not top category, but trying to be the best). But if retold continues to grow and it gets a StarCraft treatment I think it is expected and it is realistic to absolutely be on top category, and be on top strategy-wise, even make correct decisions on difficult times, but the meta will be changing, and retold is heavier than other games in the sheer amount of content, and I think it will be difficult to be the best. Really don't want to discourage you at ALL. Just want to point out that the advantage pro player's have is really, really big. I love your content. Waiting for the next video!

This is a great video for any RTS player really since you point out the correct mindset and the attention span needed for competitive success. 1 or 3 seconds are enough to change a match trajectory permanently and I believe that there is a difference here maybe regarding your tactical victories (like the maneuver to stun and kill units on small combats) and Vortix's strategical victory (which I read as the decision of your opponent on committing on a full-fledged offensive with 1 TC only while you went for a boom diverting resources to a 2nd TC) Subscribed to you!! good luck in the next tournaments!

Good call ! I've applied the wait & bide time and regroup an army a few times, and it often does work, towers and TC doing chip damage here and there is "free" but honestly this video is so informative its insane, as atlantean player, and the mirror match up, I do think murmillos are the winning choice too rather than just trying to turma vs turma Letting a TC go after it does some damage to the enemy while you build up a further army might not be a bad move either

You have such a great Attitude, bringing the Analysis of your L to the public!
@SLaKMaNiTyАй бұрын
Awesome analysis, I feel like this sort of thing happens to me all the time (having a lead then losing somehow). When you were unbalanced on your eco (no food), what should you have done? were there more hunts or berries you could take? When I was in this situation I tried to spam out more farms, but I didn't have enough wood to get my food back quickly enough and eventually got overrun.
@IamMagicAOMАй бұрын
I think the main issue was the second tc which ate up all my food, I had no choice but to transition to farms but there was not enough time
@SLaKMaNiTyАй бұрын
@@IamMagicAOM Right so even though you have a lead in the scoreboard, a decision like building a second TC shouldn't be taken lightly because it can actually set you back. Even though you have a villager lead you can't capitalize on it because now you're under threat of the opponent who has been forced to make a move on you. At that stage instead you should be able to defend easily and patiently with the better eco position and knowing that he's going to act out of desperation to make up his losses. Just trying to clarify my understanding here. I'm a casual player normally playing team games but these things mess me up. In a 3v3 I made my closest opponent resign through raiding and pushing his main TC around 15 minutes. Thinking I was relatively safe after that I built 2 more TCs but then their ally showed up with an army of age 4 elephants and camels and son of osiris around 19 minutes (he'd been left alone all game) and was basically unstoppable even when my allies came to help. I guess I should have built more army and maybe tried to age up before fighting him, I had the resources to do so, but my 3 (or 4?) TCs were spamming out villagers eating up my food and it was all downhill from there 😢 Sorry for the spiel, I know team games are a completely different ballpark but I think I learned a lot from your analysis to apply there too.
@sevenseven61232 ай бұрын
gg, I think - as you mentioned as well - the biggest part of losing this one was the villager distribution. you had more than enough time to recover, but 3 on food for so long was too rough. I haven't been able to watch your games live, and since they were on a special page you cannot rewatch them. So if you want to shortly analyze your other games against Vortiv, I think lots of us here would love to see those

Oftentimes I find the centimanus waste their knockback ability on single units when I would like them to use it on larger clumps.
@IamMagicAOM2 ай бұрын
Yeah right click on the ability and then you can manually case it by clicking or pressing the hotkey ( for me it’s Q )

Sending just 2 units from a group is such a pain in AoW though. Any other game you can select from selection, in AoW you have to select manually from the screen except if you want all units of a unit type.
