Sylvaneth is my favorite faction by far (just for the aesthetics), but this video made me take another look at Slaves to Darkness. When you described the Chaos Chosen's attacks, i had to rewind to make sure I heard it right, then I had to look it up to make sure it was accurate. Such an incredible warscroll on that unit! I don't know if I'll build a whole army, but I may have to paint up a unit each of Chosen, Warriors and Knights. They do look very cool.

Chosen lack rend hard, though, and this will only get worse once the season ends

@@nikjkeenan2866 They're not perfect, but you have to understand that the only faction I was familiar with was Sylvaneth. He was rolling 31 dice at 3+ 6s are mortals in addition, 3+, rend -1, Damage 2 for 460 points. At the time, Sylvaneth players were preferring Kurnoth Scythes which are 19 attacks (sometimes 25), at 3+ (no mortals), 3+, rend-3, Damage 2 for 500 points.

@nikjkeenan2866 rend is good but weight of dice with high chance of success to fully land attacks is a thing, especially for damage 2 weapons. Slaves is also an army that just plain lacks rend, idk why but we really don't have much rend.

Awesome Battlereport, loved to see my beloved StD :) I still keep playing slaanesh chosen with the banner making them run with +1 and charge with +2 (need to issue the command with a slaanesh hero). I've won alot of game with the unexpecting swift slaanesh chosen! :D and they do hit pretty hard especially getting demonic power on them. Keep it up always fun to watch!

I've been running this same list for sylvaneth for quite a while now besides some different artefacts, and it's been very successfull usually going 2-1 at tournaments. I just tried running 2 units of 3 kurnoth swords instead of 6 scythes and used the Treesong spell to boost my rend with them. The mw's that swords dish out is solid as well as drycha and warsong of course dishes them out from anywhere. Glad to see someone else playing it 👍

and now you can just run 6 swords and blend everything lol. Sylvaneth are a solid army for positive win rate potential because of tankiness, healing, teleportation, magic and damage output. I'm glad you are having good games with them. In the end it is all about an army that fits your playstyle and is rewarding to play. I've been on the receiving end of that spell by warsong, its absolutely bonkers how powerdul it is, my opponent always gets a minimum of 5 mw whenever he uses this or the bramchwych version in knarlroot. Took out about 600 points of my IDK army opening of turn one including killing my king and a shark. 😂 Good batke report, varanguard are a great answer to sylvaneth i think for choas.

The warsong bomb can truly be brutal against some armies, might even be worse in the coming season. And i agree we need to get some Varanguard for david's collection

I would suggest useing oracular visions from the sorcerer on the chosen. it is a warscroll ability. and giving the chosen the mark of khorne ability so they can wound on 2's

Totally forgot oracular! It can be hard trying to play every army well lol. That may have helped keep the chosen topped off :)

i think maybe the chosen and the knights should have swapped which mark they had, chosen really need the run and charge from slaanesh to do much, and knights like to be tankier and just not die while capturing points

Great battle report! I'm trying to understand a rule right here. On David 1st turn, he is rolling on the eyes of the gods. Is this because he gained control of the objectives? I don't remember seeing his general killing a hero or monster.

Chosen should have had slaanesh mark on them, and banner of slaanesh. They could run and charge every turn you wanted to blow a cp on them.

@BattleshockWargaming it's just so optimal! It gives them exactly what they need to function. I think I saw that one too but can't remember. Been trying to find more semi recent s2d content to push myself to get this list idea I've had going and painted (s2d are my main but I don't have a lot painted yet because the last few years have had a lot of crap getting in the way of painting much, haven't even got to play much but that's another story)

The scythes are a good strike and fade unit but i recently switched to 2 units of swords and deepstriking drycha and i gotta say its solid

What the hell was the fight last on the karkadrak 😂 Normally you would give fight last on the knights..then pile out of karkadrak and then finish the knights with drycha and TLA 👌🏼

usually it is because they are what you have available to you, unlike warbands which are markedly better and have been sold out for months. In the meantime, they fill the roll of "screen" until some corvus cabal or unmade magically appear.

Top of round 4 the Sylvaneth cannot use Strike and fade on TLA since he didn't kill any model from Chosen unit. I think Sylvaneth player need to learn better their rule...big mistake which has changed the rest of the game.

Sylvaneth dont have to have killed any models to strike and fade. the rule states " Once per turn, in your combat phase, immediately after a friendly SYLVANETH unit .. has fought and slain models (if any) have been removed from play (core rules, 14.2), you can remove that unit from the battlefield and set it up again more than 9". that "if any" in there means that you models dont need to have been slain to do a strike and fade.
