My only problem with these new Aerialbots is the fear Hasbro will do what they did to Legacy Breakdown, and Fireflight or Skydive will be a repaint rather than it's own mold.

The fact that his snoot droops makes this Sliverbolt objectively superior. Also I’m pretty sure those two jets are the same molds as the first two. Same stabilizers, same wings, same nosecone, same intakes. You can even see that all the small molded details are the same. If these are the remolded jets, then it’s sad to see that Fireflight looks nothing like an F-4 Phantom. I really hope these are just stand ins and that they actually make Fireflight and Skydive the right jets. Especially Fireflight, because I love the F-4 Phantom, and the only transformers toy of that jet is G1 Fireflight and his repaints.

@Godravage If I saw an original G1 Megatron next to NewAge Romulus. And I couldn't afford both. I'm walking away with G1. Even though I thought G1 Megs was ugly back in the day. The nostalgia now means more to me then the aesthetics.

That’s not even true though think of it like this the zeta toys silver bolt is essentially 2 time the size 3 times the size in combine mode again 3 times the weight better paint I won’t say better look because that’s subjective and you can still buy their whole set if I remember right for 450 dollars that’s for the premium painted one as well. The hasbro ones going to cost 190+ so the prices are really comparable honestly I think that collectors like you really just need to experience masterpiece scale 3rd party in hand their really quite wonderful but I would agree hasbro and TAKARA are in their bag in this scale other than newage megatron lol

I already experienced it. Not everyone is into 3rd party. People prefer official. I remember so many 3P masterpiece toys and I don't get where it's on the level of an SoC - that is a standard. Y'all hyped over the same thing but in reality..they aren't official. Sorry charlie, I go with official.

These look even more gorgeous. Just a few months wait now. Started in on CW Superion but only managed to get Silverbolt before prices skyrocketed. Ended up getting a KO....SO REALLY HYPED FOR THIS AND THE OTHERS TO COME.

I remember watching almost every Transformers reviewer during the cw/potp Era was tired of mold degradation from all the repaints and remolds. And let's not forget, if the 5mm pegs on the upgraded hands and feet were slightly off you'd crack the hole they'd fit it and ruin a good toy

Technobot ultra-modern core, Scattorshot, by heavily tweaking this Commander comrade (plus he already has a 'battle-gunnery mode'). Next, redo one of one of Legacy's Stunticon Road maniacs into the rubber-on-road-burnin' Lightspeed. (Wasn't that the real point of having a 'freed up' combination style in the first place ~ so retooling can be done effortlessly since actual 'combination' a.k.a. 'plug 'n' play' effectively takes place outside the gestalt body instead of being part of the pillar structure via the 'patch-to-bulk' power-up 'merging' system?) Finally, get one of these upcoming chibi jet limb bros remade into our futuristic fly boy, Strafe! The fact that one of those three tiny 'Masters' that can pilot Siege Jetfire can also help guide the Aerialbot Commander. I've watched some videos where they are trying to say that CW Superion is better. It's like having someone tell you up is down and black is white. These new pictures just solidify my confidence in my purchase. I can't wait to get these guys in my collection.

All my Combiners Wars figures are literally falling apart...can't replace them soon enough. I'll keep both Superion though, my favorite combiner. I'm looking forward to seeing any upgrade kits that come out. I want some gold thighs and I'll likely do something about those generic shin panels.

I'm not a fan of the fake combiner archetype that they applied to Superion. It worked for Menasor because he has a trailer that could reasonably be that frame and his show design was already a nightmare to work in to a figure. I would've preferred a traditional combiner that dosint cheat by using a frame. The reason why most combiner wars figures sucked was that they didn't specialize any of the limb bots, every bot was designed to interchangeable which took a toll on the quality of the combined modes proportions, joints and look. It would've been nice to see a proper normal combiner with the modern design philosophy but unfortunately we get a nother version of Menasors flame combiner style. Personally I find it more fun and satisfying to put the combined mode together with the individual bots than to just sticking them on to a frame. Of course I'm not saying it's a bad figure, I do see the advantages it has from doing this its just that I don't like it but I hope that the people who do like enjoy it. I hope Bruticus will be a completely new mold that dosint copy the frame design scheme.

Thus far my ONLY 'nitpick', and it really is minor, it that Superion is still missing his arm cannon. Now maybe there will be way to attach it or a 3p will design an upgrade, but it that's my ONLY 'nitpick', then I'm good.

Well it's just the way the gun is placed on the arm. Animation stuff really because the way the gun for Silverbolt is it had a second port to fit in the fist of Superion. However in Superion's hands the gun was shorter. Looking like an arm cannon. I think 3P can churn up something to get that look. I agree it was always a cool look to me.

I like that idea. After you do the review video. Do a fully comparison video. Add points for articulation, points joint stiffness and more. That will show that newer is better. CW was not bad at it's time. But it's no longer up-to-date by today standards. That's the truth.

I have an interesting question to ask. Sioverbolt did NOT exist during the time of the Primes. Nor did any of the Aerialbots, based on any of the media I can find regarding them. So... how exactly does this fit in with known details regarding the Aerialbots and their creation ?

@superroboted fair enough. It just doesn't sound or feel right for them to be around during that time period of Transformers history. Figured I would ask, since I rarely pick up anything Autobot in regards to toys or figures. (I do have 3 pretty beat sculpts that I picked up over the years... Starscream 10in, Shockwave 14in and Bruticus 18in. They do NOT transform, and they were not particularly cheap. They stay in the boxes right now, otherwise the cats will try to eat them....)

The only Generations combiners I have are Victorion and Volcanicus, so I'd be happy to grab one of these newer combiners. Although I'd probably wait for the G2 repaints of the Aerialbots. Somehow the Superion looks (subjectively) cooler in blue and red.

Hey man just came across your video i like it, plus seeing these photos im getting this it looks great. One thing about the upgrade kits i got one for a galvatron it was DNA Design and man was it fun and it improved the figure alot. But your right they are so expensive i got mine on sale so i took a chance it worked out but i dont think im getting to many more. One last question whats your opinion on old school 80s G1 are they on there way out?

Prob cuz they want to try and replicate the original G1 look. From what I can tell though they took the movement restriction into consideration cuz you can see the front part of the alt modes bending back for knee joint clearance.

I don’t think that’s actually skydive and firefligjt, they seem to be grey unpainted models of the first two, we’ve seen this happen before where a unpainted grimlock was used for volcanicus prior to snarl’s reveal as well as an unpainted grey/tan crashbar when showing off junkasaurus, could be completely wrong on this ofc but that’s just my view, also the guns on the grey models are the same as the first two as well

These are still half-assed attempts that are better than the CW ones in terms of being more G1 accurate and having a few more points of articulation but I'm not picking them up unless I see them discounted. I don't think this set will be worth $190. I only got Legacy Menasor when Hasbro Pulse had the box set on sale. At this point, the only figures I want from Hasbro are the rest of the mini-bots in deluxe scale and I'd pick those up for retail only because I really want those characters in my collection. It's crazy that they haven't even finished all the Season 1 characters in these newer lines.

How can anyone definitively say whether the combiner wars Superion is better or worse than the new age of primes until they have it in hand. I have a ko of CW superion and it isn't great even with upgraded hands and feet. But we don't know. I hope the new one is better and doesn't need a dna kit to fix the problems as Legacy Menasor which i assume this new Superion is based on so 🤞it will be great.

I am not liking the no hands and fists of Slingshot. On the fence about getting. Love this Silverbolt though, even if the gun is NOT cartoon OR toy accurate. But I don’t know. Gonna have to see what the other jets look like. This was my 1st G1 combiner and was my favorite until Computron popped up.

@@superroboted by the way, I still think the Action Masters and the Pretenders is a possibility. Look what they did with Bombburst and Iguanus as core series! They could do same with Action Masters and Pretenders except they won’t be the core Transformers. Anything is possible with Hasbro.

So wait, hold up. Hasbro is set to release a near perfect pair of G1 combiners with additional accuracy, articulation, and no necessary needed add on kits yet there's still a reason to complain about it. I get those who already have the Combiners Wars sets with additional third party kits, but I don't get collectors wanting to spend significantly more to get an inferior variation when tis will be probably less expensive, and more widely available. This fandom cracks me up sometimes. I literally skipped out on the entirety of Power of the Primes, and Combiner Wars because none of the toys subjectively looked good. Legacy Menasaur was a great step in the right direction as a Combiner though Motormaster could have used a bit more polish, and Q/C all around. While already have all three of these preordered really hoping the plastic Quality is Commander Class level for both Silverbolt, and the Combiner bits.

Who in the world is saying the new Motor Master is the worst. Like, sure I am not a fan of the chubby trailer, but the bot mode on him is top notch and easily bests any others. And Combiner Wars is just cheekz all over. So many of the figures and 'combiners' are trash. But it's like someone else commented, a lot of people who stan for it were kids during that time, so that influenced them and their love for the line. I get that. Doesn't mean the line wasn't cheeks. Because, it was.

I don't know about Legacy MM being the worst, but he has no business having such pathetic arms or legs. He looks like he's wearing oversized boots. Pure genius having Menasor is head inside the figure though. very lazy with the folding arms backpack.

I've said it in multiple videos, but I'll say it again. Silverbolt is fine in robot mode. Superion looks great. Silverbolt's alt mode looks bad and was lazily engineered. The deluxe jets have lazy alt modes too. The deluxe jets for Combiner Wars actually were better I'd argue. If you just care about Superion though, this new one is the better Superion.

Well, I'm not going to get rid of my combiner wars figures (even though Brawl is terrible) but these new G1 Legacy/AotP/SS86 combiners are so much better. Hasbro did so well with the Stunticons, I'm seriously looking forward to the Aerialbots and Constructicons. Even though my Motormaster had yellowing before I opened mine & the ratchet on Menasor's left shouler is now loose.

Common sense is no longer common 😂. This release is a net positive in my opinion. It’s an upgrade over the previous Hasbro release, is it perfect? No, is it better YES. Does it show promise for the direction/future of Hasbro TF releases; also Yes. Nothing wrong with accepting this for what it is; an evolving consumer product that finds the happy medium between cost to manufacture and final retail price/product.

The deference to me seems to be that for Combiner Wars an upgrade kit was a necessity, here it's optional and purely cosmetic. Hell i didn't even buy the one the had for Menasor.

Oh my..... we already had the combiner wars version. Time for something new. New version. New options. New accurate combine mode. Standard articulation. New version are better. That's the truth. To have more Options is good.
