Everyone is dunking on his glasses. I truly like them on Tom. More importantly, good family review on this game!!!

Very cool Tom. Your kids are getting better at this, fun to see them thinking critically and learning how to express their opinions.

I’m just playing the first scenario now. I’m listening to the 30 minute backstories of the characters now in the app. The writing is good enough that I want to listen to them all. Hoping for a good story 😃

I've organized everything and excited to start playing it... After we're done with frosthaven, and ISS Vanguard, and Oathsworn, and Isofarian guard. Oh boy

This comment right here is why I'm super cautious to buy massive campaign games. 😅 You could probably have four years worth of game nights on those five games alone.

I would pick agemonia over the other 4 overall. It's ok to sell inferior games when a better one shows up, or not finish a campaign

@@goldsmeeth2771 - It took me many years into adulthood before I accepted the idea of, "You don't HAVE to finish the game/movie just because you spent money on it." I've learned to let go and enjoy so much more variety that way.

There apparently isn't that much difference in succeeding or failing the scenario goal, what affects your future scenarios more is how much of your resources you spent trying to chase it, and if you spent time exploring and finding nice items and getting those scenario achievement gems (wild card successes). I like it that much of the game is resource management and deciding if some outcome is worth it or not, even though there is a lot of randomness and not knowing beforehand what will happen and what are you even supposed to do in a given scenario... The events are much better than in Gloomhaven, with more options that for us so far have led to realistic outcomes.

Just finished. Great game. I can imagine why it would be game of the year in a lot of peoples list too

Tom, I like the bgg costume or outfit! Just need the orange band for the hat as well, nice!

Too Many Bones did what you're describing - it allowed you to see what the rewards of the multiple choice were before you picked them. Great BGG outfit, by the way!

Curious what age kids could enjoy this… older than Adventure Tactics Domianne’s Tower?

This feels like a perfect convention game. It has so much of what I love in board games, but almost too much? I'm super interested in checking it out for myself...on someone else's table.

It sounds like, despite them even calling it a fail forward, it's more accurately an attrition spiral, and those can definitely be frustrating.

As a moderate noob to board games... all of books and rules seem very... intense. I looked on BG Geek and saw that this has a weight rating of 3.21...and I'm like JUST 3.21? I can't even imagine what a 4+ weight rating board game would look like.

Those books aren’t all rules. If this was a wargame they might be all rules haha…. and nothing but text! Welcome to gaming, after time rules reading and comprehension gets easier and easier.

Don't confuse the amount of content and amount of convoluted rules. Reading every series of Harry Potter is long, but it's easy read
@ironwolf566 ай бұрын
Oh don't worry there's a very old meme about how the BGG weight ratings are laughably low.

Tom, you should get better 'fitting' glasses. You probably pushed your glasses back 50 times during the review.

Perfect game to never buy. With three excellent campaign games clogging up my shelves it’s never been easier to pass up on more campaign games

My father-in-law used to play dnd in the 90s, and my wife and I have been playing for years. (Ive been playing since highschool but i got her into it about 4 years ago) and we tell him about our campaigns all the time. Well this morning he just sent us a link to a short about this game asking us if we’d want to play it with him and my mother-in-law (whos never played anything like this) I was pretty surprised but i think im gonna buy it for fathers day for him/us as a family. We dont have any hobby games aside from a few other rpgs and a few easy card games. I think this could be some good quality family time and something different. Especially since we don’t have any other games like it taking up space.
