Travelling for 24 hours flat, I know that feeling! Flying from Heathrow to the southern US, I'd imagine you would have passed pretty close to Liverpool, my home town. Not that you would have seen it, as the UK is buried in cloud most of the year! Safe travels lady, and a happy & healthy New Year.

Happy New Year! It’s amazing how motivating it is to hear lost luggage stories …. to pack carryon only! Post Covid that’s what I’ve been doing…. Even 2 month trips to Europe ( from Australia). But I only travel in spring/autumn so no need for heavy clothes. Back again this year to experience Easter in Crete.

I hate carrying my luggage so that is why I have the AirTags and travel with back up stuff. I get it though. I have only had it happen twice.

Happy New Year! Thanks for showing us your experience flying out. I always get a little bit anxious when dealing with flying so it helps to see how others cope. lol I'm in Australia and it takes 22 hours to get to London with a stopover. Even getting to L.A X is 14 hours so long time on planes. Anyway, hope your new year will be fabulous.

When my wife returned to the U. S. from the U. K. through Heathrow, she said the security people were nasty and she had to transfer liquids from her clear plastic bags to ones provided by security. It was a real pain.
@agirlandherpassport2 күн бұрын
Yes, they are very strict. I have mine in a clear plastic bag that I bought years ago that they seem to be okay with. But I am always prepared to be delayed there.

Hello and Happy New Year. I have been watching the port webcams for Piraeus, Paros and Naxos and all seems calm with good weather. Do you put your airtags inside your bag ? Last year I put my Samsung equivalent attached outside the bag attached to the handle as I was not sure if they would work okay inside. Unfortunately the tag was ripped off at Heathrow on my way out, probably not deliberate, but ruined the whole purpose of them.
@ginaperks17203 күн бұрын
I use AirTags too. They work perfectly inside your case.
@agirlandherpassport3 күн бұрын
I put them on the inside. I put them inside a pocket or a shoe so they don’t get lost.

We have free baggage checkin because my husband is retired from American Airlines. We still don't check in because it's not worth the frustration of baggage claim, but also less stress with less stuff. We Americans don't need as much stuff as we think we do.

I remember you saying in a video of yours that if you have a connection in Heathrow, be sure to give yourself PLENTY of time. I did that with our connection. We had 4 hours. But the day of they cancelled our flight from London to Chicago. Without any notice they switched our flight - now London to Dallas. We went from a 4hr layover to 2hrs, and when we arrived to London we still didn't know our seat assignment. It was super stressful, and I was beyond pissed! Needless to say, my Heathrow experience was not a great one.
@agirlandherpassport3 күн бұрын
That does sound stressful. It took me over an hour to get from my arrival gate through security and then to get to the restaurant I had lunch at, so I can't imagine only having two hours.
