2023 comes to a close with about 26 HOURS of the most disturbing linguistic creations ever crafted by sentient beings. Welcome to the 2023 Cursed Conlang Circus! In order to satisfy KZbin's video length requirements, this needed to be split into not just two, but THREE separate parts, each one longer than last year's entire Circus. So sit back and enjoy, or suffer.

7:31:51 The best part about Hyperslavic is that as a speaker of a slavic language, I've understood 90% of the bee movie script translation
@Art-ey7xj
@Art-ey7xj 2 ай бұрын
Also as a native speaker of a Slavic language (and having familiarity with a few others) Hyperslavic is just a combination of the quirks of existing Slavic languages, old orthography and archaic features like dual number. It actually felt almost like a normal language to me, only marginally more difficult than Serbo-Croatian or Russian. It was super cool to see of course

As the creator of Leverite (49:56). I am so excited to have been involved in all of this. The experience alone of watching someone else (who actually understands lingistics and created bueatiful conlangs I can only dream of) find the same simple, comedic joy in my stupid jokes and deliberate mess of a language really filled my heart. I couldn't stop smiling the entire time. And all these other great submissions!!!!! I hope everyone the very best of luck!

I am the creator of the aptly-named "Annoying Language". I apologize that the quality of my video was so low and that the link didn't work properly. And yes, my conlang does take place in the Pokemon universe. I just wanted to give it a bit more "zest". I am so grateful for this opportunity, and I have enjoyed this event. It is truly astounding how many entries were gone through, and I commend Agma and AEternal (sorry I don't have that key on my keyboard) as well as my fellow contributors for the massive amount of effort in creating this experience. Jolly good show!

3:31:36 I'd argue that the "tones" from ỹ̀ are more like variable rounding qualities, since those types of frequencies (besides tongue position) are formed by how rounded your lips are... Also the orthography being "nya" is very funny.

You know it's gonna be fun when you see a disclaimer like that 💀 Edit: As a native Russian speaker, Nightmare Russian sounds pretty cool. Like an average Northeast Caucasian language, such as Tabasaran or Aghul, but cooler. I wouldn't call it a cursed language, it's not even as crazy as Tsez or Avar, but it's sure an aesthetic one. Also, "Hyperslavic" is just normal Slavic stuff, only a little bit more complicated than your average Slavic language.
