🌻 ABOUT COSMOPOLITAN CORNBREAD 🌻
In 2016 my husband and I retired from active duty army family life and planted roots in Alabama. We started a homestead from scratch, and shared that journey here on KZbin. In 2022 we answered the call to the mountains of Arkansas, where we are starting that journey once again.
I post videos to encourage families to embrace growing food, cooking real food and living a simpler, slower, faith-filled life. I am a whole bible believer, and share my passions for the home and the Father.
Here on Cosmopolitan Cornbread some of what you will see include:
🌻 Cooking from Scratch 🌻Homesteading
🌻 Raising Chickens 🌻 Raising Goats
🌻 Gardening 🌻 Organic Gardening 🌻 Food Preservation
🌻 Bible Devotionals 🌻 Faith 🌻Whole Bible 🌻
🌻 Women Homesteaders 🌻DIY 🌻 Natural Living 🌻 Natural Health
🌻 Home Ec Lessons 🌻 How to Cook, Bake and Can
Getting back to the basics as the Father intended.

Love my garden time with our Creator! It does feed the soul! In spite of the struggle bus, it looks pretty incredible considering everything they’ve been through this year🥰

It is a process in patience every year for our high altitude and arid climate but I love gardening and keep at it. Because of our area and temps, I am finally finishing planting our veggies, herbs and flowers.

I think your plants are doing well in spite of the late planting. 😊

Thank you for the good words about dealing with a garden that might not be doing so well. And you’re very right - it’s all about learning and it’s all about time outside and time with the creator and your hands in the dirt and just getting out there and trying. Mine is actually flourishing right now but we’re going on day 18 with no measurable rain in the 90s through the day and some really weird pests that I have not come lacrosse in the last five years it’s disheartening to watch it come up and look gorgeous and then start to decline because of no rain and we’re on a well so we can’t just water whenever we think we need to the well is not being replenished either

I think all our gardens are feeling the heat these days. I just was just up in our garden watering and pruning the yellow dead leaves from squash, tomatoes etc. I agree when I’m in our garden I feel I’m visiting with the father and enjoying my time with him. I tried to find your Saturday scripture reading but I could if find it this week. Did I miss something?😘❤🙏🏻✨

Yes, your cucumbers look great. This is the first year that I have decided to focus on cucumbers so I can make pickles. Well I’ve planted about 13 cucumber plants. I’ve already made about 15 quarts of pickles. If we’re not fresh eating them I’m actually giving some to my friends, my neighbors I am been loaded with Cucumbers.🌱🌱🥒🥒💚

Well don't feel bad about your beans. I planted some yellow wax bush beans and I don't know what I have but they are pole beans. LOL Little surprises in the garden are welcome.

I know it’s pricey but will last a while…surround kaolin clay has been a game changer for me in the garden. Not only does it cost everything in a light film that helps keep the plants cool when we get extremely hot but biting pests like flea beetles leave everything alone. Works soooo much better than neem oil and DE. Worth looking into :)

We here in Texas are getting ready for some heavy rain from a tropical storm from Mexico so today I went and spread it out some fertilizing slow release fertilizing so when the rain hits, it’ll do really great make sure I took it away from the roots so I won’t burn. I don’t think that slowly fertilizer burns, but I still want to be on the safe side🥒🌱💚

Hello, i completely agree with you about being out in the garden, out in the fresh air and the freedom and the peace and love! I can just imagine the smells, the beauty of the flowers your animals, well you are very lucky no matter what your garden produces! Have a lovely day.

Your garden is gorgeous Constance. I haven't even had the time or energy to start one this year. Being a 24 hr caregiver to my husband is definitely a challenge . Not to mention it got so hot. Maybe I can get a fall garden in. Will definitely be trying. 🤗💓💕💞

Glad you made this garden. Our weather here in North West Florida is about like yours right now. I do see we are going to have lots of chances of rain the next week. Praying you get rain soon. Have a blessed day friend

Yes, the hours spent in the garden are thyme well spent... 🌿😊 The fish emulsion should perk things up quite a bit. Good thinking. Planting once the heat sets in is always more of a struggle, but l am amazed at how you are already picking, after the Big Hiccup you had at the start of the season. Thankyou God!! Also seaweed extract will help defend the plants against the heat. Remember to defend your self from it, too! (But not with seaweed extract!!🤩)I will be praying for you. And your garden. We had it down to freezing on Sunday night, and have had a few mL of rain At Last. Love, hugs and prayers. 😊☔🐨

Garden Answer, another KZbinr has a great video on a drip system for raised beds. I just watched it today and hope to have a drip system by next year. It is also very hot and dry in NC with no rain in the forecast, but we are just getting to our hottest weather. I hope I don't have to throw in towel. Lol. I'm still watering with the hose. :)

My garden was great last year (1st year) but is struggling this year. Not sure why but I’ll figure it out. But I did have good success with peas which I’ve never been able to grow! Shalom

I'm getting 5 or 6 cucumbers every day. I'm canning pickles tonight. I'm also getting 3 or 4 zucchini and yellow squash every day. I'll be freezing those. Tomatoes are still a couple of weeks out. I am getting leaf curl virus on a few of my tomato plants. They are all starting to set fruit so I'll just let them run their coarse.
