Thanks for sharing this excellent footage. i am down with a fever and watching this was very inspirational and brought back memories. I usually don't comment but this is the 5th time I am watching this, hence ....... I have always asked the question when did Iyers lose the sense of community and become competitive instead of living together and helping one another as described by the elders in this video. Living in the west for several decades I am no great example. Efforts such as yours should be formally sponsored so there is something to show the future generation. Thanks again.

After listening to his speech he said "intha kaliyugathule yaaro patthu peru aacharama iruppanga". I do sandhyavandanam 3 times a day and now as he is saying i also trying veda rakshanam by learning to do brahmayagnyam and sammithadanam as well..i stay in Melbourne Australia but wish to live near srirangam koil even though me iyer. I will hope my dream comes true after I retire.

KSS+ Why should Brahmins be so weak-minded and feel helpless? Are there not enough well to do people among Brahmins? Are there not enough (so called) highly educated people among Brahmins? Can they not find some way to help and fund such efforts? To seek support from a self-styled secular govt for such efforts is a vain dream; even if it fructifies, it will bring unwanted interference and disaster in due course. Brahmins should learn to be self reliant, and mutually supportive. Let them look at the Parsi community of Bombay and learn a few things from them- their self-reliance, self-confidence, mutual help, community spirit etc. Harder days are coming for the Brahmins. If the govt resorts to reservation in the private sector, job opportunities for the Brahmins will shrink further. So, they should prepare themselves, and not sit like clay ducks. I agree with you about the purohits. They are not only greedy, they are also nasty and heartless- most of them. In this Mahalayapaksha season, one can observe most of them in their greediest and most devious light. They bring discredit to the whole Vedic heritage. Tall talks are not accompanied by fair deeds. Sheer hypocrisy.

Allur is served by Mekkudi Raiway Station. West of Mekkudi is Jeeyapuram station that serves three villages, Tiruchendurai , Ammangudi and Andanallur. Andanalluur is my mother's parental village, She was born there in year 1900 ! I have visited the village in the 1940's. I am now 87 and live in Florida.

Mislabelled as fanatics, it is we the younger generation who are never interested in caste based discrimination , we are the ones facing the wrath of the society. What is needed is an awareness programme on why we shouldnt generalise traits based on caste. Brahmin na superior nu solradhum thappu. Brahmin na thirudan nu solradhum thappu. Dont get misled by these fanatic subunit of any caste. Times are changing and younger generaton is mostly respectful of other lifestyles.
