This song got my me through ( I know we all take it our own ways) my alcohol addiction, I didn't find a "higher power" or much of any reason. The first time I heard this song, with Christina, it was cool, but not the power you see and feel when he sings alone. I had a bottle of rum in front of me when I first watched this video and the words just clicked, I literally just stared at the bottle and played this over and over. Anywhere I would have followed that damn bottle, it was the one that I loved and I was saying goodbye. Say something, I'm giving up on you. That bottle couldn't say a damn thing. Been 1 year now. Sometimes we find a meaning in a song that changes our lives, this has changed mine everyday.

Hey I know it’s been a while since this song came out but it’s always been a favorite. Tonight it’s meant more than ever. I told my dad “don’t call me til you’re sober” and I listened to this song on repeat while I wrote the letter that included that message. This song speaks to my pain and the refrain “say something I’m giving up on you” is what I want to shout at him but can’t find the words.

A mother going against the traditions just to make her daughter happy, is a mother worth to be cherished, thank you grandma! your love showed to us the true meaning of true love, grandma wherever you are, i know you are watching over us, we miss you daily wish you could say something !

The way he sings it. I've been there myself. It's like somebody you love breaking up with you, or losing somebody you love. You act all calm and collected but inside you're screaming and if only they could see how much agony you're feeling inside. It really describes it in this song. Singing calmly and it slowly gets powerful and erupts but the lyrics stay the same. It's like showing them how you feel inside but, at the end, that mask falls in front of your face and you don't show them your true feelings. 1:51 is that moment of desperation where you almost plead with them not to leave you but it's already too late and all you have left now is the pain and you want to say so much to them but it's too late. I've suffered personal loss. I plan to sing this with the band tomorrow at the local bar and I'll sing it with emotion.

+Danny Fredette I'm sorry to hear that =( I grew up with domestic violence. Saw my dad bully my mum all the time, make her cry, mentally and physically abuse her. She was so kind and loving and compassionate, she was an angel and she hid all of her suffering behind a smile. I lost her a few years ago to cancer, she was only 47 years old. I live with such pain and guilt every day that I didn't save her from him... If I had saved her from him she may still be alive. People tell me it's not my fault and I couldn't do anything but I can't change how I feel...

I am in absolute love with this song. There are so many emotions. And I don't mean that I hate Christina Aguilera by saying this: but, this version is so much better than the duo version. I mean, I can tell that this song means a lot to Ian Axel, and every time I listen to this song... I cry. Its... its incredible how they managed to create a song like this. I got no other words than to say: "This song, is a beautiful masterpiece. And who ever doesn't appreciate it, simply does not have any idea of what true songs are. This, my friends... is one of the most emotional songs, the world will ever experience. Take good care of it, and let it stay in the record book for multiple generations forward. This message, cannot be allowed to be forgotten. The most important thing, is not the destination, but the journey that comes with it. And this song... it let us on a journey unlike any journey any one has ever been on before (in the world of music, that is). And I would really like it, if they were to Remaster this song, so that we can hear it, in its full glory. Whatever you will go thru in your entire life-time. Even if its sad, difficult, or whatever it may be. I would like each and everyone of your, to remember this song. The lyrics, shall speak to your soul, unlike any other songs could. You will embrace the message and the main point of the song, and take it with you. So that when you are in a though situation, this song, will get you thru the struggle. It will get you thru every obstacle. It will get you thru everything! Whether it has to do with you love life, your family, your friends, your own problems. Whatever it may be. This song will always help you. And while I have never experienced something traumatic in my life as of yet. I still know, that whenever I may experience something like it. I will get thru it, thanks to this one, single song. Thank you Ian Axel. Thank you for everything! You have truly made a masterpiece! You have quite possibly saved lots of lives and... we are forever grateful. Have a great day everyone! Stay strong! And get thru it! :D Bye!
