I have a few cop friends and one came by with a new guy, wanting to make a point. He got the guy to mace my cheeseburger. His expression was priceless as I ate it, and recommend he switch to capstun. Yes, I do check labels before doing things like this and knew what he had. Foaming agents tend to screw up the flavor, as do UV markers. Only made the mistake of trying it with the military stuff once... Once...

Not everyone's biochemistry is going to be the same. What's necessary for one species can be a deadly poison to another. For those that need (or at least want) a substance care will have to taken to keep it away from those that could be adversely affected by it. I can't imagine what species taught them that phrase.
