I have seen many people confused about Mae being left behind and this is what I have put together: Mae was left behind to give a chance for Osha and Qimir to escape and the mind wipe so the Jedi would have no info about anything. If Mae left with them, the Jedi were going to pursue. The Jedi believe Mae murdered Sol here at the end. Venestra used Sol as a scapegoat to appease the senate meeting and get them off her back. The Jedi knew about Mae murdering the other Jedi members, she has been brought in to appease the Jedi concerns, but Venestra is going to use Mae to go after Qimir. Venestra is playing multiple angles and both the Jedi and Senate feel like everything is wrapped up finally, each believing a different person is responsable for the murders.

Truly enjoyed this season of The Acolyte. With all of the negative fanfare before the first episode my expectations were low. I was pleasantly surprised with the story, action, suspense and mystery. Not my fav Star Wars live action show, but in the top 4 Mando, Asoka, Obi Wan, Acolyte. Thanks for the great breakdown and watch parties.

Thank you Mike for reloading the breakdown video. The additional part lost in the initial broken breakdown was important for me and for us. I really thought that all the Jedi that Venestra brought were just going to be cannon fodder. The lightsaber duel was epic. I got mad and confused when Basil pulled wires in Sol's ship, but I understood that Mae needed to get ahead. I'm glad Qimir just stood at a distance and let the Twins make there stance with Sol, without interrupting that. Ii was also great to see the start of the Jedi downfall. I know there were certain predictable aspects of this series that needed to occur to keep in canon and explain the prequels, but come on, this was an exciting ending and many parts I couldn't have predicted. It was really exciting to see Plagas - I even jumped out of my seat, and for an old guy like me, that was hard. I think now that Yoda knew and he also told Mace and that explains the glance at each other in The Phantom Menace. Rank 9/10. I agree, Mando, Ahsoka, Andor, for TV series were better. But I did binge-watch this for a friend who didn't watch before the final episode and it was better to view this series in one sitting than weekly. Thanks again for the re-upload, Best to you and all the hard work you did for this series in bringing us these breakdowns. Now rest and recuperate your health. Best Tony

10/10 for me without a doubt!! Love your breakdown and completely agree the finale really hit the mark! From the duel between Qimir and Sol,Plaguies, Osha turning and force choking sol the Kyber crystal bleeding and we got Yoda! 🥂 Also my heart broke for sol cuz not only did he die but Venestra put all of it on him so his memory will be a fallen Jedi who killed others then himself! Crazy! One thing that I loved about this show, while Yes I loved Sol and the other Jedi but this show had me rooting for the bad guys,Qimir and really hoping Osha would turn to the dark side only because for her story and character development, it was fitting and for me she’s always been the stand out of the twins. I never really cared for Mae. I really hope we do get a second season because there’s so many more layers to the story that could be told in a second season!

Still, as a murder mystery, with twists and turns, compelling characters, awesome action and an intriguing villain, I was thoroughly entertained. I like for how of all this talk of the light and the dark, this show resides in the gray. I don't know if there will be a season 2 but I hope there is.

I was answering to another comment that the beauty of this show was the layered deep story. A psychological, fantasy combined with the mystery and sci fi depicted in non linear storytelling format is too much for the franchise fans and let’s not add all the negativity building around it that blocked a casual viewer’s mind to begin with! 😆🤦🏻♀️ I really enjoyed this new format and all these new characters introduced and the meticulous ties to SW world movies, shows and books. I really wish they tell the rest of the story. This galaxy is big enough for new generations to come. If we are true fans we must root for its expansion and continuous . Not that it dies or sticks in the abyss of retelling the same stories over and over. It will allow the young generation to relate and see that our favorite Galaxy has stories appealing to them as well.

It was right next to her hand.😂 How come Osha doesn’t want to know why Sol killed her mother? Why the beaver tracker is now helping Mae after being against her just before? What stopped both girls and Qimir from leaving together? Why the Jedis started following the beaver tracker, when Venestra told them to form a perimeter? How does the lightsaber works when the crystal broke the outer case? How come I got so many questions ( and I’ve got just as many for each of the other episodes) and you don’t question anything?

Can we just talk about Osha being a freakin' psycopath? I mean, even Anakin Skywalker after killing Mace Windu fell to his knees and cried out "What have i done" in anguish... Here, Osha just kills Sol extremely calmly, slowly and coldly, not in a burst of anger or as an accident that degenerate... she displays no doubt, no remorse, she just does it and then goes on her merry way, not giving a flying fuck. I don't know if that was on purpose, but it was really odd, especially considering it's highly romanticized (like Anakin holding Hand with Padme at the end of AotC). I think the tone was really weird, like if the showrunners thought they had portrayed Sol as a bad enough person to warrant a cold blood murder.

@hehu40253 ай бұрын
So, we’re just tossing the novel aside and ignoring everything? Plagueis should be around 15 years old, and the Sith Master should still be Tenebrous or even his master. It’s too early for Plagueis. If it had been set 50 years instead of 100, it might have made sense. And it's about respect for the original story. If then they can do anything, imagine what if they completely changed Revan's story. Would you be ok with that? But considering the number of absurdities in this series, especially episode 7, I’m not surprised by the thinking: "Let’s throw Plagueis in there because it’ll be cool for the stupid viewer." There was absolutely no reason to include him for the sake of the plot. I genuinely felt like they were trying to make me feel like an idiot, thinking I’d ignore this. The dynamics between Osha, Mae, and Sol were the biggest flaws of this episode. Sol's death was more comedic than tragic to me. He didn't say even why or something. I couldn't understand Mae's character at all. She was so irrational throughout all the episodes that I just couldn't grasp her motivations. Osha's turn to the dark side also left much to be desired. For example, the reason given was the revelation of the truth, but Osha wasn't particularly attached to her mother as she wanted to leave. The importance of her mother wasn't emphasized enough, making her reason for turning to the dark side very weak. Episode 7 was 0/10 for me This episode gets weak 3/10 because Qimir realy saves this. The best character. I don’t want a second season because they’ve already done enough damage to the lore and basic logic. The Acolyte should not have been created at all in that form, and I hope Disney has at least some minimal intelligence and doesn’t come up with a second season, just like they did with the movie featuring the fan-favorite Rey Palpatine.

Rating: 0/0, less if possible. It seems absurd for a fekking Sith Lord to be lurking in the shadows lest a couple of kids see him. Could you imagine Darth Vader tip-toeing around the Death Star spying on storm troopers? The petty plot contrivances and weak characters did not scale into the colorful universe that Star Wars IP provided. Little people with petty weaknesses within the vast universe. The series fails to answer the fundamental question: so what? What made the original movie good was to see how an insignificant kid can be swept into an epic drama of good vs evil. And the movie did it in 2 hours and for 1/10th the budget. The series ran for 4 hours with 10x the budget and I still don't know what the point was. The Jedi weren't perfect? Never imagined they were. Sith Lords can be nice? Well, even Hilter had a girlfriend and a pet dog. The good guys don't always win? Who were the "good guys"? Who was I even supposed to like? Finally: why would Vernestra need the help of Mae when she can mobilize her Jedi resources--and even more if she informed the Jedi Council and the Senate--that the Sith have returned?

This is embarrassing. Hotwiring controls of a generator that blew up 16 years ago? Also the sister fight was physically painful to watch. Additionally, cortosis has never "dampened" anything, but even so, she can control Qimir through it? Yeah, that's real dampened. Fortunately it ended with their "make Jedi evil" plan to have Jedi Master Nepotism lying and deceiving the Senate. You literally have to just forget all canon, acceptable levels of acting, and reasonable choreography to like this swill. On the bright side, even Iger couldn't possibly green-light a second season of this train wreck.

@@chocolatebar6785 The story sucked. They're basically saying that Anakin is just another guy now because lesbian space witches can create vergences in the Force like it's nothing. And it's not just "random" scenes. A building of stone and metal going up like a tinder box. Forcing Wookiepedia to scrub 40 years of Ki-Adi-Mundi. Using metal detectors to find vergences. The inconsistencies in this series are of no shortage. And outside of Jacinto and brief flashes of Lee, the acting was horrid. There are reasons why this has an approval level in the teens, and saying "review bombing" is just lazy and disingenous. This was just an angry lesbian giving the middle finger to everyone through the guise of a popular entertainment brand. Even super-shills like Grace Randolph have bailed on this pile of crap. Hi Mike, i like ur content bht let me rant just a tad... lol...I could not be more disappointed with this show. The finale was very underwhelming, and it felt sooo rushed. Osha turned so fast and was okay with being around the very person that killed her childhood friend and a girl she had interests for. now she's just okay with that. Basil's intentions was very odd considering not long before he attacked Mae lol, now he's stopping Sol.... and they manipulated us as viewers, at the end of episode 6 Sol had something "very important" to tell Mae, the. Episode 7 we see that Mae was there for the whole thing so we was here thinking "what else will he say to her she doesn't already know" the. Episode 8... he's just sitting there!!! He literally said he was about to tell her the truth, then sits down and doesn't talk and then says he's waiting for the jedi to come.... this entire show has been like this and it's extremely frustrating 😤. This show has gotten a BIG Fat F grade for me, first star wars project to get one for me. I can't emphasize how much I detest this show, I even defended this show for a while and was excited before it came out only to not have any emotions when Seeing plagueis because of how bad of a show this had been to me. This show has okay moments, but very few. I started to really hate Sol as a character after 6 and 7. I hate the moral of this shows message.... evil wins, do what u want and u will be happy.... do good, well then u lose. Anakin did what he wanted and look at where that got him, What about Luke, oh yeah he lost his arm. No consequences in this show for these terrible acted characters of Osha and Mae. And then qimir, why not, he's cool, sexy and strong, sith rules, be bad kids... whatever. I dont like how the jedi are such evil, liars. While in the prequels they were flawed, they were still good people that wanted to do what was right, in this show. They are so focused into themselves, and the senate.... wayyyy more than in the prequals. If they started out by usujng plagueis then naybe it be decent. But these characters qere very uninteresting. Godzilla minus one had the most relatable and compelling characters with beautiful development in 2 hours.... this show has had hardly any normal and smooth amd compelling developments... and its not at all relatable, very disappointing. I would say more but im done lol. Cant wait for SKELETON CREW THO!

Osha would have had to come a long long way to decide to execute Sol - and we just didn’t see it. Same is true for Mae who let go of her anger without sufficient reason. With a little more story telling craft we might have been convinced that is the sensory deprivation helmet Osha has a shattering revelation and/or was changed at a deep level (like Morbius in the Krell lab) - but it’s not delivered that way at all. Honestly, the program felt like TV, not something on a different level as we saw with Andor and some of the Mandalorian. Sorry to see Sol go so trivially. Tossing in Yoda is just cheap service to hook folks into another season.

I've said many times that I didn't like this show, but it finished strong. That's not to say the things that bothered me most were resolved... the lazy writing, subpar dialog and pacing continued throughout, though IMO the story did get better and the fighting sequences were very impressive. They did manage to clean up the Mundi "Sith millennia" comment that drove the Phantom Menace fanboys nuts, though Yoda's knowledge depends on what Venestra tells him. One thing that slipped by was Sol's lightsaber NOT shorting out against Qimir. He even came within inches of his cortosis helmet. Ending on a cliffhanger is risky. A second season would likely take us in a more interesting direction with Plagueis and Qimir and maybe lesson the pain of this first season.

That's awesome! Glad to hear you liked the episode! And you are absolutely right they made it out without the Jedi knowing the Sith have returned!

Yoda seems to have some knowledge about the Sith in Phantom Menace. (Always two there are...), so it might be that he knows of the events. He also listens when Ki and Mace claim the Sith are extinct, but is more careful with his responses.

Yoda I expected but my jaw dropped when I saw Plaguies and another live-action first is Kyber crystal bleeding as it came with the Brendok 4 becoming no more. I knew Osha was set to end Sol becoming the true Acolyte but looks like Mae will be playing kind of a Revan role having her mind wiped. Season 2 is a must.

Qimirs eyes were just the same thing that happened when the witches take people over... because now osha not only is super powerful in the thread but the force to with minimal training, standard now. Sol continues to display the highest levels of incompetence amoung any Jedi master and allows May to escape. Bazel like evey other character on the shows motivations are un clear and switches side on a whim. The Senator is introduced to re inforce that the Jedi are scum and its insinuated that these are the events that lead to the fall of the High republic and the first dominoe in the fall of the jedi(more lore destruction) Her fall to the dark side....yea incredible, seeing her captured(after being force healed yep, never forget that throw away force heal) spends a few hours(because this show has no concept of time at all) in a cave with Qimir, seeing him naked being enough to keep her from taking the ship that right there to fly away... but its because sol kill her mom... yea the big reveal, because Sol tells may the full story, but osha just gets he killed mom, Oh ya because for whatever reason Sol wouldnt tell her the truth...even after May is alive, apparently the proof of vergenance to bring to the council was more important then telling the truth to someone he apparently loved... but ya some darkside turn, goes from good to bad in a matter of a few hours, and bleeds sols crystal effortlessly... Compare that to Anakin, whos endured the death of his mother, years of manipulation, and the death of his wife...solidified his turn by helping kill almost all the padawns and even his crystal didnt bleed that easy... Ah yes, Plagueis just hiding out on Qimirs cave... just randomly, why? who fucking knows.. at least they made him look right... but just more shit that makes no sense, maybe if he was on brendok I could give it a pass because its apparently such an imporant planet with the force, but eh, nope, hes just creeping on Osha and Qimir because theyre now the most imporant sith now/ Honestly, I dont know why theyre trying to turn star wars in the matrix, now they swing their sabers like their in anime shows and this shit had more slow motion than Rebel Moon, but you probably thought that was good too. .. dude have you never seen any action movie where they have twins, lmao its seriously not a new thing, they did in the 90's with Double Impact Vandamme twice, or shit what about that will smith movie where not only is it two will smtihs, but its a young and old will smith,,, FUCKING IMPOSSBILE BRO!!! that fight sequence is trash, and its like ooh look they do the same thing cuase theyre the same person, but ironically the show has been trying to do the opposite the entire time, where when one is good, the other siwthces to bad, they have opposite motivations, until the very end, and then what do they do because now the twins are besties, Qimir mind erasers her because no they can work togehter, theyre the same but different because none of this makes sense.. its the light side dark side,, well im pretty sure both them are murderers(and unlike sol that shit wasnt self defense). ah yes Osha turbo powerful can see into the future with the helmet(which just enhances powers which wooud suggest she is already that powerful ZERO TRAINING FLUNKED OUT AS A PADAWAN) cant even notice May who seriously has the most inconsistent abilites in the show, she starts how killing jedi masters with butter knives, then cant defeat a padawan, but can now disapear likea ghost to come disarm a Jedi master who has defeated Qimir for the second time! remember Qimir dfeated like 7 Jedi knights at once, and lost to Sol twice, but MAY can easily disarm SOL!!!! May who murdered a Jedi Master wants to turn Sol in like she wouldnt also face consquences, again May changing her motivations wasnt she the one on the revenge path, didnt they have the falling out a few episodes causeing may to wound Osha which LEAD TO THE FORCE HEAL!!! FORCE HEAL!! I guess that doesnt matter now.. Again Sol explaining himself, but doesnt ever explain how and why he had to kill her mother and that the witches were actually the aggressors.... saying she wouldnt be trained, well she was to old any way right....oh and didnt she end up flunking out so why didnt you tell her after she wasnt being a Jedi any more...again why do they even have to prove theres a vergenace... why would they just report the fight to the council,, fuck the vergance, these witches jut mind controlled multple people were turning into like vapour monsters and teleporting shit..oh and one of the ids started a fire the burned the entire complex down and exploded the power generator(which really doesnt matter cause theres still power 16 years later).. is just so thin... Lets force choke him so he cant talk, again displaying unexplained ability in the force for some one who was working on space ships and talking about how her connection to the force was gone in the eariler episodes.... yea remember the conversation with Jekki, when they werent talkinga bout how flexible Jekki is..... I guess that helmet does wonders! then what happens, Sol dies saying its ok and I love you like the Incompetent pedo they made him to be as they complete his character assassination. Yes, remember all the other episodes when we are like HOW CANT THE JEDI SENSE THIS.... well guess what finally a Jedi senses something and who is it,,,, Jedi Master Leslies Wife ... takes one step on the planet and instantly senses Qimir........ BUT SOL CANT SENSE SOMEONE HE FEELS A CONNECTION TOOO THEEEE ENTIREEEEE SHOW... and if OSHA AND MAY are the same person wouldnt he be able to sense them both... We'll tell them what Sol did... seriosuly seriously....Atleast you can suggest that Qimir manipulates them here because he's a sith, he really is the only thing decent on the show... basically being a Darth Chad and manipulating the extremely stupid woman. Vanestra is basically the emperor now,, manipulating the senate, the jedi order, and now apparently FUCKING YODA! This is not only the worst star wars thing ever made, its easily one of the worst shows made. If you look at this un biasly and just act like star wars isnt even a thing its still really bad, just from a fundamental writing and production stand point(WHERES THE MONEY LESLIE??). Then just remembering that it actualyl is a star wars IP and you have to consider all of the implications its had on the over arcing cannon.. HOLY shit,, this is practically blashpemy if the force is a religion.

I mean Plagueis just made his Live action Debut, On the sith planet he was on with tenebrous when he rose to power, full on sith.. I think he has already taken down his master on this planet and claimed heir to the sith, His eyes were already gone. Qimir is possibly His first apprentice and they took out Tenebrous together... Or he is a fellow Pupil and unaware that Plagueis has killed their Master. In legends, Tenebrous and Plagueis are on Bal Demnic on a mission when Plagueis kills him, so It fits and believe this 'Unknown planet' is exactly that, clearly we all do. There has been hints that Qimir could be Venamis and well a season 2 needs to dive into that and much more of the Sith now. I Wasn't the biggest fan of Mae and Osha but.. It does explain why Plagueis would bring the Idea of Clones to Sifo Dyas seeing how they are a mirror split of 1 person, not twins.. Early cloning! being a Vergence in the force explains his obsession with Creating life and immortality. So well done there. Plagueis creeping on Osha and Qimir makes me feel he is going to find all of this out in a really dark tormenting way. Leslye set up a good start to this.. I know people are like 'It's the high republic, a time of peace!' Yes I agree, But this is the End of that 'Time of Peace' and the start of a 'Dark Dark Era' for the JEDI and Republic. We all know the sith sit patiently in the shadows, plotting this take over for a very long time.. 100 years @ that.. Season 2 doesn't need to be 'Acolyte season 2' It just needs to move into a new series, keeping the connections to this story! but really getting into the sith and explaining everything left.. Qimir, Plagueis and his rise, Flashbacks of what he was doing in between the events of the Acolyte. Star Wars - The Beginning and ending right on Tatooine with Shmi Skywalker I am also a little Confused on 'You will see why Kylos theme is played' Like Leslye said.. Did I miss something in the finale? I didn't see any confirmation that he is a Ren.. Regardless it ended Without breaking anything.. Everyone Died! Vernestra is a so political, how the Jedi end up being in the prequels That She is losing her way and bringing those lies to the Council. I don't see Yoda believing her, or allowing manipulation like that face to face but.. Palpatine did it! so maybe. The Darkside does make it hard to see and yoda doesn't even know how long judgments have been clouded.. He says that in the prequels as well. I know Leslye pitched a Ventress story @ First and has always been interested in this Era.. so let her do it, she brought us some things from Legends we never thought we'd see in canon.. People don't see all the good.. I know it's not perfect and I am in the middle @ times, especially after the episode last night! I had to sleep on it.. It's so new and an important time for me since Episode 1 is my Favorite movie of all time! those characters are my favorite characters ever!

I’ve been pretty mid about this whole show, even thought the hate was over the top. But even I thought this finale was atrocious. The Sol cover up was ridiculous, did they forget Indara had witnesses and was killed with a knife? Making the Sith seem like the good guys, Osha and Qimir walking off into the sunset holding hands after force lobotomising Mae.
@cole713 ай бұрын
@@Lilac-and-Gooseberries I get the hate now more than before. It’s like they are trying to make the show for a different crowd with the whole “force is female” thing n it’s gone overboard to the point where the story is secondary to the agenda. I say agenda cuz I don’t know what else to call it lol but it’s blatant. I gave everything a fair chance since force awakens but this is exhausting. I didn’t know I loved SW this much until these horrible shows that are killing it. People keep supporting it and they keep making more. It’s not for me anymore. Hopefully marvel can hold me down since it looks like Deadpool and a few other projects are heading in the right direction for me.

They shouldn't have killed Master Sol. He was one of the main reasons most fans liked the series. It would be awesome if Osha was pretending to kill him and Venestra was actually giving him some room to investigate more. He could be everything Qui Gon never had the chance to be.
