It's funny to hear people describe people taller than 6' a freakishly tall. Average male in The Netherlands is something like 6' or 6'1". I'm 6'5" and it usually doesn't take me more than 5 minutes of walking outside to spot at least someone that's taller than me. Unfortunately these guides aren't really applicable, because if it's suitable for someone 6'1", it's not at all guaranteed it will be suitable for 6'5" and above.

Hey man, I appreciate you doing this but I really wish you had gone further. The tallest person in your examples was 6'4", which is certainly above-average but still within the range of what's normal. I'm 6'8" and I didn't learn anything from this video. It would have been great to see clips of people at various heights sitting in various chairs. I think that's the type of content that actual tall people are yearning for. I bought a used Aeron in size C and I'm finding the seat is too deep and narrow for my hips. It may be suitable for taller people and heavier people, but it's not made for big-boned people. Seeing real examples and hearing from real tall people and heavy people would be much more impactful.

Thanks for your addition to the video, I also live in the Netherlands, so its good to find more optionsthat are available here.

@@winningtopas615 To be completely honest with you: I used to have a cheap 100 euro "gaming chair". As you might probably know, it really starts sitting uncomfortable or even hurt, after 2 hours ish. I do not suffer quite from these problems on the secret lab. Now i do have to say, the material is quite hard. Its steady and quality. What i mean by that is that the chair isnt by any means really soft to sit in, however, with how much you can optimize back support i think its still suitable for most situations. I dont think your height should be a big problem. Only thing i'd say is that your head pillow will have to be quite high up. Might you consider throwing away a medium budget, id safely say the titan is an alright option. Otherwise, if you haven't tried, go to the nearest ikea and see if a simple office chair suits your liking. If you have any particular questions, feel free to ask

I like to lean back, I like lumbar support but not too aggressive, due to a low income my budget is €300,- or there abouts (can not save for a higher budget). Prefer fabric or mesh. Arm rests need to be either flip-up style or totally removable. Also like to sit reclined a bit. Tried the TecTake Springsteen chair, which was perfect in terms of seating position, but the build quality was awful, it creaked, popped, and banged from day 1 and you could feel the steel frame through the backrest cushion. Tried the Sharkoon Skiller SGS40 (Noble Chairs Hero copy), liked the seat and seat hight, armrests were awful, side bolsters were awful and limited my movement. Currently looking at Ikea Markus chair or Hinomi H1 Classic V3.

I'm 1.83(6'0) and 113kg (250lbs) and own Herman Miller's Aeron C and Embody and bought a Mirra 2 for my mom. The Embody is the winner, not by a large margain but better overall. I'm not uncomfortable on the Aeron, however I understand people don't like the plastic edge on the thighs, I'm on the mark if I get fatter I will begin to feel them. And for that reason Mirra 2 just isn't for me. It was uncomfortable after about 2 hours. Going back to the Embody, it also has better upper back support. HOWEVER if you pair an Aeron with the Atlas Headrest (which I do), it gets way better. Can't wait for the Embody Atlas headrest.

Any 6’6 guys that can give input? My go to for your height is the steelcase gesture, embody, and titan evo 2022. You’ll want a soft back all the way up and as noted before, the headrest can give additional upper back support.

@Ahnestly2 жыл бұрын
I think it can definitely help! If your neck and upper back are suffering, it could be because you're leaning back a bit too much in the chair. Try to tighten the backrest (back right knob) all the way, and then lock your chair upright - see if that helps as well!

While I appreciate the information here, the fact that when given a budget, your response was to say "save up more" rather than find a chair that fits into it makes this information kind of useless for anyone that isn't well off. Which I imagine is pretty common. I don't have the cash to spare to blow over $500 usd on a chair, and am looking to replace mine with something for 4-5 years and then maybe go for a premium chair then. Please choose an example person who has a cheaper budget than $500 usd.

Titan or Amia for 6’1?
@Ahnestly2 жыл бұрын
I like the Amia better for pure sitting, but titan has a little more flexibility - lean back lounge mode (or what I call bliss mode) and ability to sit in all kinds of ways thanks to bigger seat pan. My recommendation - get an Amia (steelcase is having a 15% off sale and free returns). If you like it a lot, keep it. If not, could try and return and try a titan evo 2022 (keep in mind returns aren’t free with Secretlab). Whichever you decide, please consider using my links as it helps my channel a LOT! Hahaha at 6’6, you really run out of clear options. I would recommend a gesture w headrest, embody, or a gaming chair at that height. Soft backs all the way through but you may find your back hanging off the chair - I’ve talked to a few guys that said a headrest can help give them a little more support although not sure the gesture headrest can reach that high

I'm also 6'6 in the US and have been going through videos and reviews like crazy trying to find something that would work. I tried the Haworth Fern but am returning it, back height was mostly okay, but the seat pan was no good and too short and became painful. Starting to accept that at our height we're pretty limited to the high back gaming chairs, just ordered the noblechairs hero cause it's got a subtle style. The X-Chairs X4 looks like it could work, but very spendy
