It’s time to organize all those clothes we kept from last weeks Huge Clothes DeClutter! Now that we have downsize the wardrobe more, we can use the KonMari Method folding system for our dresser clothes! For our closet, I prefer my clothing to be in rainbow color order so I can see color coordinate my outfits!!

I am a recovering hoarder and decluttered 30,000 items last year, most of it was paper: stationary; scrapbooking and card making supplies; and office paperwork. I showed my daughter some of your videos and over the Christmas break she started decluttering most of the clothes in her home. She donated many trash bags of unwanted items and is happy that the clothes in her closet fit and make her happy. Thank you for continuing to help us move away from the trauma that led to hoarding and into the present with freedom, relief, and hope!! Smiles...

I've got ADHD and am a recovered hoarder. I'm folding my clothes KonMari style while I watch this video. I've said this before, but I love that you're so open and vulnerable in sharing your story. It's so needed. Even though I don't struggle with hoarding anymore my ADHD still makes things chaotic from time to time, the decluttering has just made it easier for me to get back on track when that does happen. I love that you so openly share your story and offer yourself compassion and grace in doing what works for you. It's so important to normalize these kinds of struggles and you are helping so many people! Keep doing what you're doing you beautiful soul!

Way to go! Wow! The amazing thing is that it will take so much less time to maintain as you go than to do the deep declutters. Most important for maintaining the closet is having a donation bin inside of your closet. when you try on a piece of clothing and you think, I can donate this, the bin is there and at the ready for your donations! It's efficient maintenance. I did this with my closet, and it helped a lot.

Thank-you. I tackled my bedroom as I watched your video with the pause button. I felt like we were doing it together and it wasn't so overwhelming. I hung up the clothes that weren't on hangers, mostly fresh laundry but there were a few sweaters in there. Then I put away some things in front of the closet and decluttered on top of one surface. and now I'm going to put away my socks. You did a great job on your bedroom.

Great job! And, for those of us without a hubby who do not have a hubby to cut wood dividers for our drawers, cut heavy cardboard dividers. I have them in every drawer, and I even use them in my linen drawers, china storage, etc ... anything I want to keep from shifting. It's worked for me for over two years now. Also, line your drawers! It makes them so pretty and smell great if you use scented ones ... and, I refresh them often with light perfumes. You may also use scrap wallpaper, heavy wrapping paper... anything that holds up and brings you JOY!

Nice job! I recommend you move the duffle bags to the basement. The closet is prime real estate. If you moved out the rarely used stuff you could get ride of the hanging cubbies, moving that stuff to the bottom shelf, which would free you more hanging space.

Have you ever considered taking off your closet doors? as a fellow adhd gal (and a lady bug according to Cas the clutter bug) I need quick easy solutions. Having those closet doors in my way just adds one more step to do when I’m trying to put things away. In my experience, things need to be just as easy to put away as they would be to set down some place to do it later. Taking down the closet doors was a first step to closet success. Bonus….. you get to see your beautiful rainbow of clothes🌈…. Which also motivated me to keep it up so it stays pretty 😘💖

My Closet was always a mess… A few years before I decided to hang only dresses and coats - the rest is organized in drawers, Konmari Style. Only way I put stuff away. I had empty hangers and everything on the floor before.

Your closet looks very pretty with all the colors...nicely organized too. Have you thought about putting up some hooks to hang some of the clothes you you will wear again...the next day or in a couple days? I will often wear a cardigan or a hoodie for a couple days and instead of hanging them in my closet I hang them on the hooks I have behind my bedroom door. Well...I just want to thank you for the organizing motivation.

We do this, too. The "not quite dirty" stuff feels wrong to put back in the closet, but I also don't want it just laying around on the floor or on a chair or something, so hooks work great, and are easily hidden behind a door. Just be careful to reuse them soon, so your whole wardrobe doesn't end up spilling over on the hooks.
