Follow the rules of the game.
Rules:
- EXP gain must be minimised, limited to forced encounters where possible
- Using Bright Might or Dark Might for guaranteed crits is forbidden
- Use of demons from the Maniax/Chronicle release is forbidden (This includes Fiends, Beelzebub, Black Frost, Futomimi, Metatron, Sakahagi and Dante/Raidou)
- The goal is to collect all Magatama and achieve the True Demon Ending
Ahriman is the first reason boss. He starts off interesting, forbidding the use of certain actions. This would be a more meaningful condition if he had more HP. He has magic of all elements in this phase but you only have to do 6000 damage to make him shift into phase 2. In this phase he has Dekunda and Dekaja (but very rarely uses them) Megidolaon and two unique attacks; Tentacle and Apocalypse. Tentacle is a physical attack that hits the whole party, nothing crazy, but Apocalypse is a stronger Megidolaon that cannot miss. When at max buffs it is pretty survivable, it can be much harder to survive if not maxed. Normally he cannot use it twice per turn but with an extra turn he now can. I end up with Atavaka only surviving a double Apocalypse with Endure due to a bit of a haphazard first phase but I actually don't mind since its a good showcase of what he can do. Overall I think this fight is still somewhat whelming. 24000 total HP disappears surprisingly quickly with a well built team at this point.
