It may seem like its all doom and gloom for workers but looking at it with a wider lens unemployment didn't change much over the last 100 years because of automation. People just found other things to do and they will do again this time. AI agents are used by human coders to do the grunt work quicker than they can and AI in general is being used to assist humans. Some low level jobs will go but other new ones will appear.

Yes, when I see how many fake accounts there are around, Facebook literally delete BILLIONS of bot accounts a year! Now there are all kinds of videos being made with AI scripts and stock footage or footage stolen from others, and websites being written by AI paraphrasing other people’s work!

As a professional coder... their code... tends to not work. You still need to be able to have a fairly competent level of code-analysis/debugging savvy to unf*** the code they give, even if it does do the bulk of the typing/work. As for robots in factories... I mean... there aren't so many kids getting sucked into the machines anymore, right? I feel like a lot of the "fear AI" is fearmongering when it's just another technological evolution we'll have to live with. The problem is what's outward-facing and sensationalized is the superficial and failures. I've been playing with AI for over a year now, and I'm simultaneously gobsmacked and unimpressed. Things evolve. Sometimes faster than we're comfortable with, sometimes slower. The main thing is to keep getting out there IRL and connect with nature, animals, and people in person to stay sane and grounded.

I’m a cleaner and would love to see an AI robot take my job, drones are never delivering amazing parcels and anybody who wants AI to create something for them one of the least productive people ever lived and that’s me saying that… also AI isn’t alive or magic and anybody who thinks otherwise is wrong.
