Great video Gabe! I noticed that you are using the unlimited plan on Runway. Does this mean that there won't be any restriction to the amount of vidoes you can create or is there any catch! Expecting more videos.

I am part of the Creative Partners Program so I get the unlimited generations option. I believe you can purchase a plan with this, but it's slow. If you want to move fast and not be in a queue, you have to still use credits.

Totally. That wasn't what I was testing though. I would have played around with the prompt a bit more to try and get it to where I was going if I was going to be using it for a project, but I totally understand where you're coming from.

They are definitely playing the "releasing small updates as big news game", but I think it's more marketing than a scheme. Right now they are burning cash to have the type of compute needed, but I Imagine with more competition on the horizon the prices will come down as the models get more efficient. Hoping anyway

Can't I increase the length of the moving image created on the runway in the editing program?? Currently, the length doesn't increase, so I'm using hundreds of them... It's a video that feels choppy.

What are you trying to make a looping video? Right now you can only get generations up to 10s, but it's like generating a single shot in film. If you want a 5s looping video I'd try Luma dreamachine. You are still going to have to have a bunch of videos back to back to back to make it loop, but Dream machine has a selection that makes the video loop... When it works

Jesus 50 credits for a 5 second video. Runway are so far behind places like Pika and Kling for generation cost, also speed means nothing if the output is unusable. if it takes you 4 or 5 goes to get a good clip that's 250 credits for one single good output. They only give you 625 credits per month for the basic plan or 2250 credits for the mid plan which is $35 a month. That's terrible.

For now yeah. With the way things are going though, I think it will get more efficient and they will be able to bring the cost down.

Which do you think is better, Runway or Luma?

They are both good at certain things, but I prefer Runway. It's UI is a lot easier to use and I personally like the results from Runway a bit better. If you are experimenting I'd also try Kling. I won't use them, but I've seen others have great success

@@gabemichael_ai I find that Luma keeps the style better. Truer to the ref image, but maybe there is away for Runway to keep the style?

I haven't had the best experience with Luma following direction or holding the fidelity in the way that Gen -3 does, but I know others have. What's awesome is that we are even having this discussion. So many models, so much competition will only make better products for us all! AND if you are taking the time now to learn these nuances, you are already winning the next decade!

@@gabemichael_ai I work in Feldman animation. If I don’t figure this stuff out, I won’t have any work at all. This is the way it’s going to go. There’s no doubt in my mind about it. I’m trying Kling now.

I've created movies and even interactive video games with runway. I've always had the unlimited plan kinda pointless without it.

Does the unlimited plan give me more freedom for creativity? Because in the free plan, I can't create horror scenes. I would like to know this before I pay.

There are safeguards in place so it depends on what you want it to do. Kling has less safeguards so you may want to look into that.

@@gabemichael_ai The problem is that it is impossible to generate a video with blood in the scene. KLING also has problems with prompt.

06:00 what a complete fail imo, didnt follow the prompt at all. didnt lean in, didnt open its eyes. I Tried making anime's by taking pictures of images i've sketched and let runway fill in the gaps. Tried it with the raw sketches and versions I've put through programms like DALL-E first. Nothing seems to work out great. Promts seem to work randomly. You can run the same image with the same prompt 10x in a row, 9/10 will be completly of target. Sometimes changing just the wording of a sentence, can have immense impact. Writing "going up to..." or "walking up to..." can mean a difference of day and night for the outcome. There should be an extreme low res preview option so I can check first if the promts are understood at least in any way and if the motions in the video are somewhat allining with what I'm imagining. It almost feels like a scam when you have to waste credits on 10x-20x tries, that are straight for the bin. just to get a somewhat viable 5sec clip. Seems to work much better with super short and precise promts, applied to mostly non fictional imagery as seen in the video. There are some guidlines and tips by the devs, but still feels lacking. Guess correct and innovative AI prompting will be the next big skill to learn over the coming years lol

As I said, I wasn't testing any of that. Just the speed. If I was really going for a certain shot I would have played with the prompt until I got what I wanted.
