@@svampebob007 ai is so weird though. Like the basic concept of how it works is the same as how a Google search works, but on a larger scale with more specific reference and framing. We have had the software for AI since the 90s, but it's just been unreasonable to power or compute millions of procedures to sort out a desired outcome. Ai isn't intelligent either which is funny. At its best it's like a person with only the left hemisphere of their brain: all cold logic and historical reference for outcome with no ability to make a leap of intuition or creativity. People overhyped Ai so badly that what we call it isn't even accurate to what it is anymore.

@@svampebob007 you could totally train a software to turn blank chassies into animated video of model cars given the reference material and computing power too, its just redcliously unreasonable to build a tool that specific for the software world where the most desired trait in programming is the ability to be modular, basically just applicable to multiple different places without being specialized to each one. I think that's what the bulk of the right hemisphere of our brain is doing. It's constantly readjusting the logical processing facilities of yourself according to the information it is able to take in at the time as well as reference. I think it's quite literally intuing what you need to be logically processing so you avoid nonstop thinking about irrelevant and useless information. In even more simple terms I think your right hemisphere manages what your left hemisphere should be thinking about. Since we can't even create a machine like that with mathematics, software will never be intelligent like creatures are. Software just can't scrutinize itself because it can only ever see the inside of the box it is in.

20:30 I feel like the reality of this would be all brain chips are leased to you even though it's a part of your body, and in addition to paying a monthly subscription, you are automatically enrolled into letting datacentres and information companies use your storage while you sleep.

It's not even a philosophical thing it's just straight up not worth it to produce derivative media while it has a large impact on the world's ecology. We're fucking the climate enough with livestock and logging and pollution already, we don't need more shit happening to it just because of some trend.

This is a very unpopular opinion but as someone who makes music I'm quite glad that AI music has become a thing, a lot of music nowadays are just loops which can easily be made with AI so it kinda forces musicians to be more creative and write things less repetitive
@pidge51933 ай бұрын
We can only hope
@SuperEvilMuffin3 ай бұрын
I hope so too, but I am afraid of the AI getting better to the point where you can't distinguish it anymore. Pop loops are one thing, but if AI is dropping a new Miles Davis or Herbie Hancock I'm packing my bags and living in the wilderness.
@waterfalleyes3 ай бұрын
@@SuperEvilMuffin They can already generate very convincing solos and old timey blues stuff, just look up "Rubbin and a tuggin on my nips" (not joking)
@cyann64453 ай бұрын
People aren't going to get more creative, you're just going to see 100 times more spam/trash cause now every idiot with a mid range pc can churn out heaps of the same generic slop for "content". Same thing w/ ai art too: for every artist who uses ai to make something passable you have a dozen more generic high cheekbones pretty woman front facing profile "art" and furry fetish simulator no. 5799044.
@Thekitty0706fanАй бұрын
In a sense its true. AI only copy existing stuff and work on pattern recognition. So if you give it 10 songs that are very similar to learn from it can figure things out. As opposed to something that's unique and different. Like, I'd have a hard time seeing AI write a song like Coconut by Harry Nilsson. Not because its a unique banger but because you have very little similar things to feed it to learn and detect patterns from to "make its own thing"
