Before that there were kingdoms (as in the 34 Germanic kingdoms), colonies, protectorates, territories, or tribal areas, as in Palestine; each group well known by name: Sephardi, Misrahim, Italkim, Burkharim, Juhurim, Turkos, Romanyotim, Palestinians, and Beth Israel. They are people of these lands as a vast majority. Tribal movement of Arabs from one area to the other never raised resistance from other tribes. Cohabitating with minority local Jews was peaceful. Mostly because they (Arabs) understood and practice even today a sense of shared heritage and so do Jews of that era. (Not to be misunderstood as Arabs willing to give up ownership of their lands but a means of shared common survival). Arabs consider Jews inherently as “People of the Book” and until prior to the current genocide had a sense of ‘unshined’ respect recognizing even the inventiveness of Jewish people. Rewind to pre-Israel state period (1920s-1940s) - “Zionist political violence refers to acts of violence or terrorism committed by Zionists in support of establishing and maintaining a Jewish state in Palestine. By that time if a justifiable settlement is not reached, with the world movement developing in favor of international justice, Israel as a state (not peace loving Jewish people) could be ousted from Palestine entirely. Going back a bit - Later from the days of Golda Meir and to before Netanyahu (Netanyahu belongs in prison, the damage he is singularly done to Jewish reputation and the Jewish cause will be felt for centuries) that sentiment to consider that YOU are coming to someone else’s lands no matter what your self justification, this fundamental principled thought was totally non existent. It's really funny how this video highlights an era in history (going back to 1922-1949) and not going back to BC. Back then (before Christ), the area east of the Mediterranean was without any borders and was called Syria and Between the drivers (Euphrates and Tigris). There were all kinds of people: the Arabs, the Jews and others. When Jesus came, some of these people converted to Christianity, and around early 700s AD, some converted to Islam. During that time several "diasporas" of the Jews took place, and they were dispersed all over the world, even to America. The area called Palesting (which was named Syria Palestina by the Romans) had Jews (who never left and were accepted among all others), Christians and Muslims, all living in peace and harmony, until the mandates were forced upon the area by France and Britain. At that time (around the end of 1900s), Europe wanted to do away with the Jews who came centuries prior, and that sentiment gave rise to Zionism. Britain welcomed the idea and helped the Jews of Europe to go back to Syria Palestina. They were accepted by the Arabs and started to resettle, buying homes and lands. At that time there was no TV or internet so the real intentions were not promulgated so that the indigent people were not aware of the intentions and plans of those pouring in. The 2 World Wars made things worse. That area (east of the Mediterranean) was under occupation from the 1400s all the way until each part got their independence around the 1940s-1970s (500 yrs of occupation), so no one part could determine its own land or borders, etc (a fact that Golda ignored completely). After the Ottomans were defeated in WWI, that same area came under the "mandates" inflicted by force upon it by France and Britain, with the latter taking control of Iraq and Transjordan. So Britain was behind sending off the Jews from Europe and subduing the "Arabs" in Syria Palestina. Europe and later the US stood on the side of the Jews and helped them keep their new homes and lands, while the Arabs in Pakestine (a term concocted by the UN, and backed by Britain) were kicked out as a result of the 1948 war (1 y after the "creation of Israel). The people in Syria Palestina were never able to nor allowed to determine their destiny. The borders were drawn mainly by France and Britain (as the occupiers) for others (as the occupied). This is the main background and issue behind the continuous struggle and conflict in that area to date. People should all live together in a historic area that belongs to all who were there across the 3 millenia. Period. They all deserve to live in peace and harmony just as they were in the second half of the 19th century (1850-1990).

Some were forced out as well in conflict, as happens in wars. there is some truth in what both sides say. What audacity? did you not hear this prime minister speak? hundreds of thousands of jews had been forcibly removed from all Arab countries, more than Palestinians were displaced even (and you can look that up). They came for survival. You don't go to an immigrant in America trying to survive and feed his family who fled death and war and say, "what gives you the audacity to be here". To us today, it may not seem like a good idea, but at that time, it seemed the most equitable way of ensuring everyone had their own country. So any talk of a two-state solution, which the West is always talking about, is a waste of time as the Arabs have never accepted it. For some unknown reason, the UN has supported the Arabs who want to erase Israel. Golda Meir suggests that this was all done by design, to appease the Arabs, even to the point of making them live miserable lives in refugee camps for many years, to give them some hope that one day they would be able to wipe out Israel. Why this was done I don't know, and she doesn't say here, but it could be connected to oil, or maybe they really do hate the Jews that much.
