Stop making me run out of cash! You’re reviews are excellent. It’s nice to hear someone talking about balance and how a gun shoulders which is to me one of the most important aspects when buying a serious rifle.I’ve never understood why this is usually overlooked in reviews?

I was a teen in the 70's and I feel nostalgic like you! I think PCP's are okay but I don't love them! I love Springer and gas ram rifles because they're nostalgic and require practice and attention to shoot well and they're simple! As you say, all you need to do is grab a pocket full of pellets and go hunting, I like that.I now have quite a collection of Springer guns, 2 TX-200HC (1Walnut, 1 Beech), 2 TX-200 MK3 (1Walnut, 1 Beech), 3 HW97K, 2 GAMO SWARM. Great video!

I have both springers and pcp's.The reward i get from a tight group from a springer trumps a tight group from a pcp every day.I have high end pcp's,but they rarely need re filling,because it's the springers i prefer to shoot.Also,preferred the hw97kt TH over my aa tx200 hc sporter stock,put both in Shefield custom stocks c700 th stocks,now i shoot far better with the aa tx200.Once you have the funds for a quality air rifle,It's all about how a particular rifle/stock type/design suits you and your build and shape,and ultimately,natural ability,there is no this is better than that rifle.

Thanks for the video,I love the look of that fishtail chequering and the ‘blueing’ and it looks a pretty sorted rifle overall. The cost of charging equipment has to be added to a pcp of course.What I love about springers is you can go out with a tin of pellets and shoot as many as you like with no worries of air pressure dropping.Many’s the time I’ve been out practicing and got carried away - through hundreds of pellets in one sitting.

I bought the TX200 a few days ago. I also have the HW97 and HW98(which I use for HFT) I love the pistol grip but found the cheek piece a bit low which is where the HW98 scores as it is adjustable. Looking forward to give it a good run through as I love the balance and weight which is more on the middle of the gun.

@@ravenshield7823 I love the TX200. It has a good balance and not hold sensitive. I now use QYS Streamline pellets which has upped the power to 11.6 foot pounds. This has improved the lock time and trajectory of the pellet. I use mine for HFT and is just a stock gun that has been degreased and relubed.

Finally, some luck in the refurbished from PA in the USA, TX200HC .22 RH in Walnut. Like the balance, shorter length, and the pistol grip. Did you see the new stocks AA is coming out with for the TXs? When are they bringing those to the States?

Taken delivery of my walnut 'lefty' stocked HC, it's a piece of art....stunning in every way. The stock has a lovely Matt texture and look but was wondering if you have treated it with any waxes (Renaissance?) To give it an added level of protection from the elements?

I got a brand new tx200 in walnut 177. I had an issue with the pivot pin coming out after about 200 odd shots sent it back and got a prosport instead. Only issue with the pro sport is the square shaped lever starts to dig in your hand after a full days target shooting. Definitely air arms makes the best out the box springers. Love my hw98 as well but kicks a lot more. I only shoot targets and hft courses these days.

That's a really good point about the spring noise lol, I was considering a silencer but you are totally right. I have a Daystate Redwolf but I just have more fun with the springers for some reason.
@redpillnibbler4423
@redpillnibbler4423 Жыл бұрын
Depending on the landscape I still think a silencer is worthwhile as in my mind the muzzle report will travel a lot further and spook rabbits,whereas the spring noise is more ‘contained’ if that makes sense?
@ravenshield7823
@ravenshield7823 Жыл бұрын
@@redpillnibbler4423 That's exactly what I thought, it literally makes no difference but looks and weight. I actually attached a fancy looking muzzle break instead. Actually, in a sub 12, you could probably tune the twang out of it to make a huge difference.
@redpillnibbler4423

@@ravenshield7823 Many variables.Personally I prefer to have a silencer on a spring rifle but it’s a personal choice.
@ravenshield7823
@ravenshield7823 Жыл бұрын
@@redpillnibbler4423 Ill give another try, it's probably something someone else could tell better from a distance since the twang is against your face when shooting. I got the HC version purposely so the silencer addition wouldn't be too long, I guess I'm more of an aesthetics person than I should be, but like you say, personal choice.
@redpillnibbler4423
@redpillnibbler4423 Жыл бұрын
@@ravenshield7823 I wouldn’t be too concerned either way,but it would be interesting to do an experiment by asking a friend to stand at different distances and make notes with silencer on/off. I bet the surrounding landscape makes a big difference with echoing etc. - ensure you fire into something quiet so there’s no impact noise. Spring/action noise seems loud to the shooter because its right next to him whereas downrange it might be almost inaudible and muzzle report vice versa. Remember also rabbits have much keener hearing than pesky humans!

@@shaunwild8797 mainly poor build quality & with the exception of the mark 1 tx & the tx recoiless in .177, shocking accuracy ,. I tried every pellet I could get my hands on but I could not get them to settle down. I have had about 100 guns pass through my hands over the years & a good friend taught me how to maintain them. He's an air gun technician. But I am afraid that the experience I've had with Air Arms rifles & the only model of their Springer range I've not owned was the Tx HC. Has taught me to give them a wide berth.
