*Construction seemed sturdier than other units I considered **MyBest.Tools** Noise level was reasonable. Good pressure and cfm capacity for a small reasonably light compressor.*

Nice work with the torch man. Been fabrication for 30 years. Not many people round can cut a line freehand and not spend just as much time on a grinder😂. Nice work overall but torch is slick.

Beautiful Torch work . Very few people are as steady free-handed with a torch . I still have to use a straight edge after 45 years ! I do Love to freehand cut , but am not nearly as good as you ! Great work Allen !

Excellent video with excellent timing! I got a 60 gallon air compressor from a company that used it for 10 years. I don't know if they ever drained the tank in those 10 years, but it sprung a leak at the bottom of the tank, turning the tank into a good candidate for repurposing it for a smoker/grill! Your video came at the right moment and shows a set of options that I can incorporate into my project, if that is OK with you! Thanks for sharing your videos!

Love watching you videos! Your a true craftsman . You make it look so easy but I'm sure it's not. I've noticed on some of your builds your installing a grommet for the temp probe wires. Have you seen the teardrop shaped ones used on some of the pellet grills? It swings on a bolt in the small end and the big end covers the hole for the wires. Might be a less expensive way of doing it. Keep up the good work!

mark your door out, cut out the door( but leave a tab or two so it dont move) and then measure your hinges before the door comes off, put a level on them then weld on the hinges , as long as theyre square and both the same the door will open perfectly. i know this is an old comment but it might help someone in the future

I really like your videos, everything is clear without translation!😻 I love watching you work with a welding torch! 👍👍👍👍👍 I understand that cutting discs are not Chinese. But working with angle grinder without protective casing is dangerous!😾 Siberia looks.

I wish my torch cuts came out looking like Allen's! His look like they were cut with a CNC plasma torch...mine look all ragged and caked with slag :)
@paultavres98306 жыл бұрын
Bryan Manka Here a cutting tip for you First get your self a “tip nipper “and a set of torch cleaners (they are a bunch of little round files that fit in the cutting torch tip holes You use the tip nipper to cut the torch tip flat ( people use the torch tip as a hammer to knock their cut metal loose never do that) after the tip is cut nice and flat use the tip cleaner to clean out each hole Once done you will hear the difference Now you can either buy a nice cutting torch square that has magnet on them or clamp a straight edge next to the line you want to cut and drag the torch along the straight edge at a smooth rate listen to the sound it will help you cut like a pro Wear gloves to protect your hands Try those tips youll be impressed the first time you try it You can make a cutting compass out of round stock a washer and a bolt and block of metal with a bolt to tighten onto the round stock grind bolt tip to a point at the center point end weld to a block with a hole to adjust the arc size you want weld washer to other end Sure there are videos out there that show them

I have an old air compressor tank, looks to be about the same size. It's just over 6 feet in length, and 30 inches in diameter. I calculated the volume to be 220 gallons. I'm slowly turning it into a smoker.
@tomreyes44236 жыл бұрын
Allen, awesome design for that pit. As I've stated before you have amazing skills. I'm surprised though that you're not using that plasma cutter for your cuts.

What is the cost of this air compressor grill??
@rvalcourtpersonaca6 жыл бұрын
Excellent video Allen. Just wondering why you put the exhaust low on the pit and not closer to the top?
@garybower18246 жыл бұрын
A lower exhaust point makes the smoke stay along the grill top I believe.
@marcuslenoir37616 жыл бұрын
My guess is if you put a stack at the grill grate it will cause the smoke to draw across the meat and give the meat more opportunities to get more smoke in it. Also heat rises so it may help maintain heat more effective with a lower smoke stack. I may be wrong, but these are my thoughts.

*After years of hauling around a large,💫 **allabout.wiki/PORTER** heavy, loud dewalt air compressor (that ironically was advertised as quiet, supposedly 78dB), I bought this. Facepalm. While it is not ‘silent’, I find myself chuckling every time I use it, sparing all my neighbors the terror of my former compressor. I use for inflating tires, impact wrench, finish nailers. Absolutely love it. And I store it under the garage sink in a 24” cabinet. I paired with a coil 1/2”, instead of a my former 50’ 5/8” hose that I had to lug across the yard from the shed, unpleasantly uncoil.... this little guy is light and portable; just a joy. Impact wrench is still capable of easing lug bolts, flywheel bolts, crank pulleys... just allow for a tiny bit of recovery now and then.*

@Allensweldingwoodworking6 жыл бұрын
I've cut them open with just about everything, heat will make it worse but it's just springing from the tension of when it was rolled and then the ends welded on, I know a guy that puts rings around before he cuts it and that keeps it pretty straight
