My problem was the outdoor fan was intermediatly not coming on. And the Indoor Temp would read 75 while the setting was set to 73- After watching this I went up into my hot attic where the ac system is. Found the T switch pulled it off and found a high water level. Used my shop vac to drain it out and put the vac hose end over two other opened pipe ends that also had water and gunk in them. Will keep an eye on this and see if this resolves my issue. Thank you for the info-.

Thank you so much. I had the same problem as you. My thermostat does not use batteries. There was water in the reservoir. I followed your instructions and used my air/shop vac to clear the blockage, it was so disgusting 😑. I also had to do the same thing inside with the reservoir cause it still had a little bit of water in it. Thanks so so much! 💓

Hi diy here , my AC won’t run . I was originally trying to fix the heater that wont turn on. I used a paperclip to bypassed the thermosthat, in the proccess I must have shorted something in the air handler, I took out the transformer , I checked it and there’s continuation. So. I don’t know what to check rite now . There’s no fuse no circuit board no t cup . I just want to fix the AC right now. It was working fine before I bypassed the thermosthat. Any suggestions is appreciated

also, the pipe sticking up out the drain to the left is the one you want to hook you vac up to, it has a Tee connection and usually a cap ontop ( sometimes it dont) u take cap off and put vaccum on and suck out this line which is the drain primary line ( it usually sits lower then the 2ndary drain)

Why would the thermostat have a blank screen just because the water sensor is tripped? It shuts off the AC from working, but it shouldn't clear the thermostat, especially with batteries. Sometimes the thermo is powered and the water switch cuts the power, but you have batteries. That head unit will display even pulled off the wall!
