So we put the turn coordinator at max deflection of the instrument when we have no other instruments to indicate the degree of bank? How would I know if I’m 15 or 45 degrees of bank? Why not just do a half standard rate? Then you can actually see if you accidentally bank more.

speed x 1.5 should be the bank angle... standard turn at 100 kt is 15 degree bank
