PT wise it’s not hard at all lol, we do PT 2 times a week and it’s for like 30-45 mins super easy but early in the morning before class.

I’m in quarantine right now at the hotel. Before I went in I tested myself. 70 push ups in a minute. 60 push ups in a minute. Mile and a half in 10:00 mins Working to get it down to 9:00 mins for a mile and a half. 80 push ups for a minute. 90 sit ups for a minute and body comp at a 33 or under.

I’m 34 too so I’ve been trying to run 2 days a week! I can do 1.5 in 15 minutes and I can do 2.5 miles in 17-18

That’s fantastic I’m 24 and was only capable of doing 14 mins for a mile and a half. I’m in quarantine at bootcamp right now. I’m capable of doing 10:00 mins mile and a half and for people our age it is possible to push ourselves and reach no limits much faster then people in their 40s and 50s so taking advantage of that and pushing yourself each day will help you out a lot.

For push up form, do they care about how our hand or elbow placement is as long as you hit 90 degrees? I struggle doing them with my elbows out, versus keeping them tucked close to my body.

I read on the internet that when you first get there, the initial PT isn’t bad at all, is it true that they want to see you do the mile and a half in 18 minutes when you first get there for a male then cut it down to 13:36?

I did a 14:52 mile and a half 2 days before leaving to marine corps training depot a week into processing I lost around 10 pounds due to stress and that paired with adrenaline I got it down to 13:21 5 weeks into actual training I got it down to 10:12 so yeah those few weeks can make miracles happen

Dawson Fischer Legit everything else, Air Force is a lot of book work and learning we go to class for a couple hours, also learn a bunch in the dorms from Our MTI, then we will do weapon drills and learn to take apart guns and much more it all depends what’s on the schedule for the day which changes daily.

I am really worried about my run time and push ups. Would you mind letting me know how many times they had you do the 1min sprint before doing the 26min run? That way I can start putting together a running plan. I would really appreciate it. I'm starting to train this week. I leave in January.

I wouldent worry about sprinting at all, focus on distance for now and I would say don’t worry about the time just yet. Run like 2/3 miles a couple times a week before joining and you will be fine.

For us it wasn’t allowed, not sure if it has changed yet but don’t expect it to of changed yet. They had us put our feet under a bar instead of letting someone hold them.

Those aren’t necessarily needed but without it it’s pretty hard to obtain, you also will have to be an element leader or high up role at bmt to get some extra points.

Start doing push-ups everyday to make it easier on yourself, I had so many people in my flight go from nothing to passing by the end of bmt any practice you get in right now will be beneficial

Pull-ups wasn’t apart of our test when we did it, just sit ups, run and pushups. If pull ups are in it it will not be a lot at all.
