Air-Jon's Freewing F-16 V2 Arctic Camo High Performance 70mm EDF Jet Flight at MRCF

Happy Friday everyone, we have a bonus upload this week! This is a video I captured a while back of my friend Air-Jon ringing out his Freewing F-16 V2 Artic Camo. He uses his throttle in a binary way, so it's either full throttle or no throttle! ;) He's a really good stick and flies the airplane in a way that really shows the maneuverability.

that was beautiful handling from takeoff to landing!! great slow speed cruising and the aerobatics were great to watch.... if i flew that it would be a scrap heap within 10 seconds.... props to you the builder and pilot and is one and the same double kudos... and that arctic Camo kicks A@# !!!

Blast from the past! I almost forgot about the Freewing F-16 and the binary throttle was on sale so I pulled the trigger! I should have never sold this little Viper. It's definitely missing a Center Burner and a Hades Bomb! I think this was the only time you filmed one of my planes where I didn't crash LOL...so I guess I was not pushing hard enough that day....lame Thanks for tubing this Geek!

Love this jet Chris, I have the 90mm that I’ve paint in the arctic camo scheme, but have really contemplated getting this jet for a while, wow...decisions decisions 👊🏼👍🏼👍🏼

It's not as cool as the 90mm...but it is a lot of fun for a cool jet, and it flies like a Viper. It really bleads the E in the turns, but with plenty of power on tap...it's not a problem.

Just bought this 'kit' version from link below, for $20 + shpng. Could not believe it, also the F14 'Tomcat'. ( Saw your set up Vid for that). Any how Great Flying, she is a 'Beaut'! Also got the FMS F-15 real cheap also from DHgate. I will practice with this one, as she is smaller, and I have a little experience with EDFs. Love your Channel, Subscribed! 👍

@@DavidBrown-du4ru I hope that it is not, but the internet was showing this as a scam!?... One person reported that the actual model is a small foam facsimile, with a small brushed motor. I ordered it, but Canceled after I read these reports. I Sincerely hope you are not taken in! Take Care & God Bless You!

Thanks Chris! I think that was my 2nd and 3rd flight on this little Viper! She was flying smoother once I got the CG and controls dialed in.

I can't get this model to slow down enough for landings since it doesn't have flaps. Right now I drop the throttle on decent, and raise it up to keep it airborne and keep the elevator up. But it still comes in WAYYY too hot. Any advice?

F-16s land like delta winged jets. Get the nose up and use the throttle to control your rate of descent. You want to be looking at the bottom of the airplane while it’s approaching. If you’re looking at the top (gliding it in), you’ll end up too hot.

Check this out!! A couple weeks ago I ordered this freewing F-16 from a special ad that I was watching through a KZbin video. The video said that the freewing F-16 was $10.99 plus shipping and handling. I thought what a deal! I click on the deal to find out that it cost around $20 all togeather. I had a feeling that this was false but went for it anyways. Had my hope up for christmas . i thought my kiddos are going to have so much fun with this . package came in today ........ Not the freewing f16....... Nowhere near that ........ What can in the mail was a 3D metal model, of an airliner....... Ive been waiting on this bird hand and foot because yes!!! Even I at 36 years old was looking forward to flying this thing .. Thanks add's !! way to kill some dreams .😢

Sorry that that happened. My general rule on that stuff is if it’s too good to be true, it usually is. They pirate all kinds of content for those ads too and had a similar ad going for a while for the f14.

This one is the high performance version with the inrunner motor. Do you have the same one? If so, make sure you’ve calibrated the esc.

The RC Geek I bought the arf an put a changesun outrunner or something like that and a hobbywing 80 amp esc with a turnigy 6s 3300 60c back as far as i can get it , I was thinking about getting an fms inrunner

Jon replied, his F16 in video had an fms 70mm fan 1850kv ( the fan used in early Eflite F16) and he used 6s 2800 lipo :-) ❤❤❤❤

Hi Just bought the same plane, im planning to use the Spectrum Receiver from my Eflite f14 64mm. Any suggestion on setting this up? This is my first PNP jet. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you

This is my friends airplane, so I don’t have any experience with this one. Just the eflite f16. That said I’d recommend setting their recommended throws as your high rates and then give yourself lower rate options from there. This is essentially the same size as the eflite f16, so you could get some ideas from my review for that one at thercgeek.com/2019/06/e-flite-f-16-thunderbirds-70mm-edf/

RC Geek? More like RC Surgeon. That's F16 is my hands down favorite 6s Jet. Must have one. Do you think this will fit a 5000mah battery without issue?

Haha! Im not entirely sure about the battery. If the space is anything like the eflite f16, it’ll probably fit, but may need some mods to get cg.

Is this a good jet to fly for a first timer? I was looking at the pacific jets but idk $10,000 is a lot. I seen this is going for roughly $300!

Jets of any type require decent proficiency and are really what you want to work up to for best success. I’d recommend getting connected with a local club and seeking out some one on one instruction. This will save you time and money while learning and then looking at this as an option to step up to.

Sorry I don't remember the exact CG. I started with the factory CG an kept moving the battery back until it felt good. These flights may have been a 2800mAh pack based on how good the vertical is. The fan is a FMS 12 blade V2 70mm with 28-60 1850kv motor. same fan/motor as the Eflite F-16
