Nice flames. I love flames, I’ve been drawing them since as far back as I can remember. I got myself an airbrush a few months ago to build a 32 Ford 5 window coupe model that my son bought me a while back. I’ve been watching all your video’s and I have learned so much. I’m at the point that I’m confident enough to start practicing flames now. I am so excited. This video is my first homework assignment to myself. Thank you for all your help Howard

Oh yea!! Love all ur tutorials but especially ur fire ones. Idk how many times I’ve watched all ur others since I started 3 years ago. Keepin it simple but with a finished product that doesn’t look simple. I’d like to see u do another one w skulls in the fire like u done the purple back ground that u did as a sample for the hot rod a few years back. But w a black background

What happens when you make a mistake? Can you paint over it straight away?
@thomasduchene9415 Жыл бұрын
U know I have always appreciated your videos. Informative and easy to follow...and of course mad respect for your skills. I just wish when someone did true fire they'd take the time in their videos to explain WHY they are doing what they do...why the flame needs to go from wide to thin and how that creates the illusion. I'm adding a luck here because of the flow of the fire and that it needs to be this way to create the illusion to the eye. I've spent far too much time time trying to recreate what I see without any real knowledge as to why things are the way they are and never really achieving a decent result because the basic understanding isnt there nor taught. Practuce... practice practuce... but if you continue to do it the same way (because you dont know any better) u dont learn, u just repeat the same mistakes over and over. Any thought or help on this? Thanks a.a.

Thank you, appreciate the comment and totally understand the feedback and your point of view. Fire is a difficult one to explain as most of the time I don’t really know why I’m putting a lick here or a tail there 🤷♂️ it just happens on the surface , as I mentioned imagine the fire before starting and if necessary get some reference images , but as far as technique it will develop the more you do it …I remember my first fire attempt looked like seaweed lol 😂 I hope that provides some info even if I can’t answer it 100% , I also have in the past urged students to draw fire with a pencil just so they can get the ‘flow’ in their heads 🔥🔥

Great video 👍 ... Just a quick question..I was just wondering why you used a ps 289 and the eclipse and not just one or the other ? Theres only .5 difference between needles ? ... Sorry I'm a complete noob to airbrushing and I own a eclipse but I just seem to have endless problems with it everytime I pick it up ... Mainly the air sticking on .. I've cleaned and cleaned it even stripping the air assembly multiple times .. and was looking to replace it with the creos ps289 .. hence the question ... Any help would be appreciated 👍.. thanks and keep up the good work
@AirbrushAsylum4 ай бұрын
Both brushes are fantastic the eclipse is a workhorse and the PS.289 has the added benefit of the M.A.C valve which will allow for more detail of your mix your paint right and dial in the airflow on the Mac valve. In regards to your sticky trigger take a look at this video which should help 👉🏻kzbin.info/www/bejne/baKsomWqjsegaMksi=vEbZH7QkFDZ0tzBS

@JFlyer1973 Жыл бұрын
Hey look up the channel NeoNotCFX … title How to paint true fire RC body…. He does a good 3 vid series and it worked out well. Also look up SkinJobsRC. He does a lot of tutorials using simple stencils (made my own) and flame licks and it is very simple and easy to do. Hope that helps. Here is a really great way to do normal painting but on RC bodies in reverse… yeah that’s different for sure.

I unfortunately don’t have any tutorials on airbrushing RC bodies as painting in reverse sux lol 😂 no I’m sure it’s not too bad , it’s just that I have only painted a few in my time and think you need to be doing it regularly to get your brain dialed in …that said use the steps shown here but in reverse and you should be fine 😉🔥

@AirbrushAsylum6 күн бұрын
I prefer to thin my paints even if it says ready to use 👍🏻Getting your paint mixture right is not as easy as you may think 🤔 that said, this video should help, as it explains paint mixing ratios as well as psi settings to make your paint flow better, so you can create your art with ease . kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKvGe6SAh8Z5mLssi=YE18j7JrPfEPL78p

Not bad but it is the same old pattern as most people paint for flames. If you ever sit around a camp fire and really look at the flame, it starts out blue. It never has this pitch fork shapes but more wide flame of yellow. Very little white or red in a camp fire.

I think you're doing this way too fast for a beginner's-type video. Some important steps that you're doing, that you've skipped over and come naturally to you because you're experienced...are gloaaes over, and not explained to beginners who are watching your video.
