ATC instructed us to fly 170 kts exactly and with flaps at 2 our minimum or maneuvering speed was around 175 kts, requiring me to set flaps to 3 in order to be able to fly slower. As we were still a few miles out, it would not have made sense to lower the gear already at that stage.

We only do automatic landings when the ceiling and visibility are below a certain threshold and low visibility procedures are in effect at the landing airport. That means that they have to use certain backup systems to ensure uninterrupted and precise operation, as well as more space between aircraft. On that morning, the ceiling was below 200ft and visibility at around 400m which was below the so-called CAT 1 minimum and require an automatic landing.

muss man tatsächlich eintragen in der MCDU. Bin mir nicht sicher ob NO als Eingabe reicht. Gibt ja keine decision height im CAT3 autoland

Wie @mihajlocar4863 schon schrieb, gibt man auf der Performance Approach page unter DH ein NO ein, denn bei CAT 3B landen wir mit 0-75 und so erscheint im FMA die entsprechende Anzeige.

Bei CAT 3B fliegen wir ohne Minimum, sofern der Flughafen zugelassen ist und alle Systeme entsprechend funktionieren. Also 0 ft und 75m RVR.
