Wow must be nice. In the 60's we changed b-52 engines on flight line no matter the weather. 4 pieces of cowling had to be removed and front nacelle removed to get the desired engine off. If you had 3 people you were lucky. We did this on an almost daily basis. God what fun. NOT!!!!!

How many man hours does this operation require? (On average, of course)

An experienced crew with good equipment can do it in an 8hr shift. Less experienced,.. probably 2 shifts.

what are the main reasons for removing aircraft engine ?

Damage other than line replaceable units or scheduled (certain components like the turbine blades wear over time so the manufacturer replaces them in the appropriate shop before returning it back to the airline)

Any turbine or compressor damage or any other needs for the engine to be overhauled or moved to the shop or any lines damage and also for the inspection of the mountain bolts and the mounting points

You mean the load of dynamometer, should be 20 on fwd and 5 aft
