Cool exposition piece. If it were a bit quieter... well I guess one could try and silence it up. I suppose that if you mount it with soft compounding material, lubricate and grease some of the bearings it could end up spinning rather silently. At that point one could really think about leaving it going much like a lava lamp.

Of course not. A jet engine burns fuel and we can see this has transparent parts made of plastic that would melt at the first second after ignition. Apart from educational purpose, this has no value and is a waste of material.

That bell housing on a real jet engine is all one part, made of inconel, and is over $1 Million for that one piece finished machined part.

Cool, but I think the fan is rotating the wrong way. The fan should be running clockwise forward looking aft, or looking from the front of the engine.
