I have an Airedale. I have had Airedales since 1984. I LOVE these dogs! They are the smartest dogs; hands down! They understand abstract instructions, and can be a teddy bear one minute, and a second later be an aggressive defender of the home. They are emotive, and can also feel, owners emotions.

Our two Airedales are our eighth and ninth... that alone speaks volumes... They are magnificent dogs.

I have an an Airedale. He is perfect. He is my task trained service dog. I love his joyful personality. He is very intelligent. He keeps me out of trouble. I won't have any other breed of dog because Aitedales are the best.

We had two 120# + great dogs, can be intimidating. Very very intelligent animals.

Try looking up the Origins of the breed they are known then compare an Otterhound to an Airdale and you will see that it was one of the two breeds used to create the Airedale
