Breaded Potato Cakes (makes 10) 560g Mashed Potato 5 Spring Onions (chopped) Chives Free (optional) 1 egg 17p Bacon/cheese a good option Salt & Pepper to taste 150g Flour (plain & seasoned) Breadcrumbs (optional) Method: Pop the cold mashed potatoes into a large bowl, add the spring onions, egg, chives (bacon cut up into really small pieces would be a good option) and the flour. Mix. Have the breadcrumbs ready in a bowl/container (breadcrumbs optional) If still quite sticky add a little more flour. Using your hands, add a small amount of flour to fingers, it helps when forming a small ball, gently flatten and pop into the breadcrumbs bowl, gently move about until covered then place on a large plate (put in fridge for a few hours to 'harden') Spray/brush crisper plates with a little oil. Carefully pop 4 into each drawer. Press Match. Airfry 200c/392f for 10 mins, gently flip and cook a further 5 mins (times may vary depending on size, keep checking and adjust accordingly) Either enjoy with a simple poached egg, or a cooked breakfast. Can be frozen for another day. Pinned here so it's easy to copy and paste if you want to🤓👍💕

Hi Kerry, I've recently discovered your channel & I find it amazing & very helpful. I'm a 75 year old lady, & have just started to use an air fryer I love watching you prepare you food & taste test. You have given me the confidence to start to use it more & not be frightened of things going wrong. You are very informative helpful & describe each thing you do perfectly. If I was to be able to choose my nextdoor neighbour I would choose you first time. You're amazing so down to earth, thankyou so so much for what you do please don't ever stop as your are encouraging me to get stuck in there. Oh Ive recently ordered so.e of the little pie dishes you cooked your steak pies in am definitely going to do those & much more. Lots of love & good wishes for your continued success I will be watching thats for sure. Sarah Wigan xx❤

Hi Kerry Letting you know I found a beautiful basil plant. Love your videos. Have had airfryer for years and do so much with it but never potato cakes. Will certainly be doing them soon. I love bowls and the blue one is beautiful. I have a tip for you and others who buy 😮spring onions. Put them in a glass with just a bit of water roots down and they will keep for a couple weeks and the tops will continue to grow.When needed just cut the tops off if you only want the green and they will grow again. I also use the whites as well. Thank you.

You did a really good job on those cakes. I made some tonight for supper before I saw your video. But I fried them in a skillet. I'm going to air fry them tomorrow as leftovers. That will crisp them up. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese. You are so funny!

Going to make these. I usually make breadcrumbs by 'cooking' a sprayed slice or cubed bread in the microwave for a min or two. Lovely and crunchy and can be broken by putting into a placky bag and bashing with a rolling pin. I suppose putting the mixture in the fridge for a bit helps firm it up before shaping too. Thanks Kerry another great vid.

Hi Kerry, I have turned these into lndian potato cakes with the addition of cumin,ground and fresh coriander,mint, chilli powder or flakes,spring onions,garlic, turmeric. Don't add milk to the spuds, makes them too wet. A little rice flour added will also make them more crispy. Had my tomato sauce bottle and knife and fork ready there , waiting.🥰👍

@Dragonlord666x32 ай бұрын
Kerry, I know this is a year old but the reason draw 1 cooked quicker was it was 40 degrees hotter than draw 2 (240c vs 200c) I think if both had the same temp they would have been closer to finishing at the same time (some dual draws, one draw gets slightly hotter than the other) I generally add green beans or peas to my mash, I steam them in my ninja 7 in 1 for 20 minutes and leftovers (well I actually cook twice as much as I need) becomes bubble n squeak, which I cook in the air fryer. if I make potato cakes I don't normally bread them as I can't be bothered to make the breadcrumbs- yes they are simple to make and I have a bag in my freezer but.....
@janetroberts2262 Жыл бұрын
They look great. We used to be able to get frozen bubble and squeak patties but can’t get them anymore so I tried making it myself in the frying pan (way before I had my air fryers) but they just fell apart, totally didn’t think about trying them again in the air fryer. I will definitely be giving this a go and having some to freeze for cooked breakfasts. 😋❤
